Folks laughed at me a few years ago when i bought all those tiny lttle dust caps for my rca and xlr plugs and even the hdmi and 3.5mm covers…Ha! I knew i wasn’t the only OCD twitch around these parts…
Let me tell you. Got dust in the RCAs of my forge and it was auch a pita to clean out im a full believer at this point
Didn’t technically buy it but my sister is dropping this sweet keyboard off here for 6 months while she’s out elswhere! Pretty stoked to try it out, I previously tried learning piano for a bit but then didn’t have access to a piano or a keyboard. So it’s nice finally getting this in and resuming the 3 days of practice i had
You need to try the TH900 mk2 (red version) some time to see if you enjoy those better than the 909s.
So… any first impressions yet?
so coming from those ifi stock purple cables…id say it pretty much improved everything. Nothing major, but noticeable.
I do indeed and I almost did this time around, but then stayed in my comfort zone and went with something I knew… The mk2’s with standard tuning are on my list to try.
Got some balanced VC suede pads, looking forward to what these will do to my VC. The only suede pads I had experience with where the hawk suede which made them darker so when I out on the Eikon Suede pads on my VC I was shocked to hear a more balanced, airy presentation with more treble. After asking zmf support team for advice this was the result.
The Woo Audio upgrade tube, the 6BF7 is something I’m suuuuuper looking forward to. Again this was the result of reaching out to woo Audio, a Mr Liang helped me out in a journey to maybe balance the WA8 out more into a slightly more neutral sound signature than the stock one. This was the tube that he pointed me toward and I am extremely looking forward to it! The WA8 + Verite are an awesome combination but I can’t help but feel that I can really improve it and make it just a tad bit closer to my style with either one or these two changes
Also besides the BHC I never really did much tube rolling lol.
Ill be exceptionaly currious to see your impressions of the new tube. I was always tenpted to roll the wa8 and just mever ended up pulling the trigger
Yes I’ll make sure to give updates on it! I am also super curious as to the changes that will happen, figured most people that owned a WA8 never got around to trying out different tubes since it’s more of a process than with regular tube amps. Also there’s just no information out there in the tubes, I had to email woo Audio specifically to get info on the tube and advice
Its the lack of info that put me off tbh. Litteraly pnly a single post i ever found compairing the 3 options and it did a shit job at it tbh.
Just fwiw, if you like rolling the wa8, there are some cool as hell after market options put of japan
100000% dude. I looked everywhere, and couldn’t find shit. I was like what? I seriously plan on buying all 3 upgrade tubes they have to eventually write a comprehensive comparison. Even when I messaged woo Audio I was like, hey I’ll admit it’s possible I just missed it but I couldn’t find ANYTHING with descriptions anywhere in this website, nowhere in reviews nothing. Would you please either direct me to one or maybe help me yourself with what I’m looking for? And thankfully he did lol, I hope I can trust him too because he said that he finds the WA8 dac to be better than any external dac . But we all say dumb shit, specially if you wanna sell how good a product is so I’ll let that slide LOL
REEEALLY
Feel free to maybe drop a link on that
Sadly besides this forum or hifiguides when I used to go there I legit unlike everyone here don’t nor ever have gone to other forums. I’m not the best with technology nor the internet so I legit would not know any of this if it weren’t for u guys
eh… like the wa8 dac is actualy pretty solid in the grand scheme (expecialy for like 2016 or whenevr it came out) but its not just end game…
oof, not sure I still have it. I was pretty deep into the chinese/japanese forum on google translate at the time so im not even sure I could find it again. All I remeber is that I got to it from digging into the profile of a dude who reviewed a Kojo KM01-Brass on a eriji. Here is also a guy that mentioned one on SBAF in like 2018 but I dont think he named yhe tube. TBH, checking out “wa8” on hifishark will give you a lot of yahpp auctions results
This pair arrived today, @Towa was very pleased with his on his Studio B and they are supposed to be different from what I have in hand to give me some kind of flavor difference. Ohhh, so excited
EML, mesh plate 300B
those 300b tubes look like crazy serious buisness lol
They are big boys and light up pretty when on.
After getting rid of my fuji a while back I finally got a new camera. I don’t want to suddenly hate on fuji but I feel like when I went to fuji I did it like when I got an iPad. It seemed like a cool product, but I forewent alot of stuff just because it looks cool or seems hip. But Canon, this is where I’m really at, I just find the detail that Canon cameras have to be better, better colors too and I’m just so used to them. This is the EOS M50 MK II, only have had it for an hour and I already feel my knowledge coming back. It’s familiar to a Canon user.
Only problem so far, my pc is currently having issues and I’ve had no luck opening the raw format files from this camera. I seriously don’t know what’s going on, since I got my first mirorless camera (the fuji) I’ve had issues in opening raw files. I don’t know if these companies have been making their own raw formats too proprietary or idk what. I miss the old dslr days in which I opened my raw format in basically any program
Either way I’m sure I will get that resolved tomorrow, got this camera because of the price point and the small footprint so that I can carry it around in my fanny pack like I did my fuji. Also bought a pancake lens for it. Feels good being back to canon tho.
Shoutout to Seulgi next to it UwU. She’s bae.
*edit: as soon as I typed this I got it to work on light room. Let’s fucking go
Yes, those mesh plates have a way of giving it a 1950’s heavy duty radio broadcast station look. Like it would be found powering one of those buzzer radio stations
I love that screen background, is it a theme? Gorgeous colours.
