I’ve not got anything installed yet since I’m waiting for an SD card to arrive tomorrow for it as I got a 64gb model with the intention to upgrade the SSD at some point. The hardware feels super nice though, very high quality considering the price of the base model.
Yeah the sticks are basically like full size controller ones, I like the idea of the gyro implementation using them too. It basically feels like a slightly heavier version of my switch in a grip.
That makes sense, I mostly play near a charger anyway most of the time so I don’t mind too much
Thank you, and I really like the aged look. To me, they have a classy and classic look, more on the subtle side I suppose…
Everything you’ve heard or read about them is true, they sound fantastic! The mids are out of this world, and they quite surprisingly had a lot of bass slam and macrodynamics even when new. This is not my experience with other ZMF models, which tend to need lots of burn in time.
Also, they (in my limited) experience are not fussy about amplification. I have a Schiit Jot 2 and Valhalla 2 fed from a Bifrost 2 DAC, and the Atrium sounds really great on tube or solid state. Different, but Better amplification would be nice, but that will have to wait now as I’ve spent all my audio $
Picked up the Vista Spark courtesy of @j.fopps and it is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade from the old AVR I was using and it pairs very nicely with my RP600M’s. I feel like I’m finally hearing what these speakers can do for the first time. This completes my first decent 2 ch setup and I’ve gotta say… it’s pretty addicting.
My iFi Zen Stream arrived yesterday. I spent the better half the evening getting it setup with Roon. So far, things have gone better than expected. I haven’t experienced any issues with the wifi like some other folks have reported (latest firmware supposedly fixed the wifi issues).
It is not a secret that I do enjoy the sounds from the Fostex TH9xx series headphones. I sold my first TH909 earlier in the year to help fund other pieces while promising myself that I would replace it. I’ve been missing having a set and Friday I said to my self “Self, nuff’s enuff stop talking about it and do it already.” So, I ordered one and today it arrived. Who knew FedX did Sunday delivery, not that I’m complaining…
@Delta9K Those really are some gorgeous looking headphones aren’t they?
Bought some cable making parts and some neutrik dust caps because I keep wondering about how much dust is getting in my gear and this means I can stop thinking about it
Elecaudio low impedance 0,5mm² multistrand copper wiring, 45 0,12mm strands and an FEP sheath with 1,50mm overall thickness - which I think is about 15 gauge?
I’ve spent a long time looking for a decent cable for my Focal Elegia and came to the conclusion that I could build a better quality one than anything that was realistically in my budget. Multistrand cable is hard to find and my preference is one by a company in the UK but Brexit is rubbish for cost. Luckily Audiophonics exists and has some decent alternatives. I’m going for a gold and black woven cord to match the Viablue jacks.
I think about that every time I reach over the top of my DNA amp to turn it on, and see all the dust accumulated on the top, the blue color really highlights it nicely.
