Sold the remaining mid-fi cans in my collection and used those funds to buy a Jot2.
I also bought that Limited Black Fostex TH900 that was listed on Head-fi. Was told the original owner said (1/3) that there was a slight channel imbalance on the left, but the subsequent owner (seller) and most others who tried the pair didn’t notice the issue.
Hifi collection is complete, and next on the list is the Utopias at the end of the year if I don’t lose my job, lmao.
Thanks, it’s definitely very different to the magnepan setup. I kept finding myself wanting to make excuses to get the amp so it’s good that I found it to pair best with the Lintons
Seems that my desk is substantially smaller with a big honkin dac and amp setup
Bryston BHA-1 and Denafrips Pontus 2… Time to enjoy it. I am amazed at how big it is coming from the Bifrost 2 and Asgard 3. The sheer weight of the Pontus is crazy!
Yes it works extremely well. My very big Thanks to Hazi59 and to M0N. for the suggestion. I love the simplicity and solid connections. It so helps with my setup and the fact that I can connect 4 amps with positive shutoffs makes it even better.
Not that I can see or feel. System is completely different than it was Saturday. Switch came in Friday evening, Amp came in Saturday afternoon and DAC came in today. Even all the cables have been changed from RCA to XLR’s. It is going to take some time to really adjust and “hear” any difference other than like everything? So far I have found that one of my headphones that I was disappointed with before seems to have great synergy on this setup. ZMF Aeolus completely woke up on this system and went from my least favorable to dang close to number 1. Still need to properly try my Eikons, Atticus and Auteur not to mention my LCD 2 PF and HEX 2. Even my Nighthawks are better weird than before!
Bought all of these at a thrift store for $1 each. I actually had never heard of Wilson Phillips or Carla Bruni. I quite liked Wilson Phillips, and I had never heard an Alison Krauss song before, and I liked her too. Some cool stuff in here.
