The andromeda 2020 was in fact the first higher end iem I owned almost 2 years ago now, after messing around with countless mediocre chi-fi sets before. It was the gateway set to my iem journey, very interested in revisiting it now

Found a great deal on new in box Antipodes s20(reclocker) and s60(power supply) to upgrade the s30 that I already own. The s60 power supply can run both. So I will have my Antipodes streaming stack all beefed up.
Saw those yesterday, a no brainer if you already had the S30. Congrats on the trifecta.
Wasn’t even looking for them but happened to be on Audiogon looking for an etherRegen or similar and happened upon these, he gave me a nice discount for both units.

I mean, just holy fuck… this thing is genuinly incredible even with stock JJ tubes. Initial impression is that it makes me feel like 13R is distinctly midfi…
Obv need more time with it but will do a writeup for certain on this one.

Not gunna lie, i didnt expect the difference to be even close to this big. I genuonly think the jump in technicalities (ignoring enjoyment since i am not a massive fan of 13r) is bigger between 13r and AIC than it is between forge/HPA-21/LC and 13R. I am no longer regretting the dumb expensive tubes i bought for this thing a few weeks ago. Going to be extremely excited to see how this changes with actual break in and then a speaker tap cable
Its completey open arojnd the back of the amp. Just the face that has something near it luckily.
There’s a reason I seriously urge people to move up, because you quickly find that scaling is not linear and not within diminishing returns lol. Will be curious to hear your thoughts on tube swaps
Also, with the susvara, try driving off the taps rather than off the front, see how that goes
