That is indeed what it is
The ironwood is very pretty and has great grain texture.
I am jealous that you got the wood case as those are now MIA.
I owned the LRS for ~ 2 years paired with Hegel H160… I downsized to a room about as small as what you have and they were absolutely neutered in stage and dynamics. My prior room was 16 x 20 x 12 and the LRS were amazing for the price when pulled out 3-4 feet into the room. The sweet spot was pretty small but when you got it positioned right the performance was fantastic.
They are supposedly working on implementing this better.
Especially if there is space on the desk, it would look more elegant and the headphones would have a place.
I find the Seahorse unusable, it’s bulky and takes up space and doesn’t look good either.
I would like to see something similar at Audeze.
I put it in my Auteur order with the dealer, let’s see if it works out. I hope so, otherwise let’s see if it can be bought a nice wood box.
Well, if all goes well then I just purchased a new Dac (Denafrips Pontus) and a new amp (Bryston BHA-1)
Excitement is a possibility I am sure. Looking forward to the sit down with some really nice stuff.
Awesome! Looking forward to your impressions.
(And welcome).
Just measured the room very roughly and that wall is about 3m wide so not quite as wide as you had them before, my plan is to listen to them a bit more this week and hopefully re-listen to the other speakers that I was demoing at the store to sure up my decision. I love what these do in terms of Timbre etc and the way that they disappear (I’m not the biggest fan of being able to tell where sound is coming from in a speaker).
I don’t like sitting listening to something knowing that I could get much better out of it though, I constantly felt like that with my HeK since I couldn’t afford the source upgrades at the time
2 serious purchases!
Pictures when they arrive please or it didn’t happen
Oh most definitely…will be a week or so before they get here.
Got my Amber 3 in after a train delay last Friday. I officially am out of space for my “bottom row”, which ironically is where all my best equipment sits. Getting dazzeled already:)
Me and my new child
And by dazzeled I mean made slightly uncomfortable by the uncanny valley I’m approaching with this thing
Hahaha. Glad you are enjoying it!
A long black cherry.
To me, this is the perfect wrist rest. It is one long aluminium extrusion with rubber feet to keep it in place. Should make cleaning it when it inevitably needs it pretty easy.
Solder (Felder ISO-Core Ultra-Clear Sn96.5Ag3.0Cu0.5), Flux (Löthonig), Crimp-On Ring Terminals and a Poti (Piher C16DH-10IP06223A2020MTA).
I’d rate this purchase 1/2 audio related
Tell us about the aluminum’s timbre
I’ve had these on order a short while. I have certain sound preferences and these fall within those parameters. Yes, i could drop 10 or even 40+ times as much ($$$$) on a product for a superior experience, far surpassing what this combo would provide. I have accepted this and we discuss it per nauseam on this and every other forum i visit. Unfortunately, i have hit the limits of what I’m willing to spend, we all have some walls we refuse to climb and for the foreseeable future I choose to simply be a spectator and live vicariously through the rest of your purchases and adventures dear friends an fellow audiophiles
I’m a fanboy of Steve Deckert over at Decware, I’ve now had enough of his products both new and old go through my hands that I’m comfortable enough w/ his voicing and engineering beliefs to mixx and match his products to find sound i can live with and enjoy long term. You can do this with ANY manufacturer out there you choose to follow and support. Pick a price point and go for it, the only limitation will be your budget and desires for upgrades or sound signature changes.
Years from now i may build a complete single system, sell off everything and start from scratch based on my room parameters and specific to my music and sound preferences. I can’t and won’t do that now because I’m still in the early learning and experimentation stage of my audiophile journey. I’m gorging and taking in all i can now, i can’t get enough variety.
Anyway, here are my new Tube Tots, can’t wait to try them out. They look gorgeous and were priced well within my budget for “toys i want to try, w/ equipment i have in-house.”.
Those at like the Mini Cooper JCW of speakers. Just cute as a button adorable! Definitely on the listen to list when we get together.
The electrical tape has been applied. If you know, you know.
Thanks so much @j.fopps for giving me this awesome RS6 stand! It look so good, it’s so useful and is super lovely! Reeeally appreciate it bro!
@j.fopps When I get my other Plenue S in I am sending it your way to try out, but you have to send it back in one of those sweet as heck stands.
The only thing I see missing is one of those mouse cable bungees. Useful for when @Littledrummerboy gets too into his korean lessons.
