Doesn’t look like that Bliss is going anywhere!
Absoluteky gorgeous, I bet you couldnt help yourself
Danacable Nirvana interconnects. More flexible and lighter than their hp cable. The connectors are of higher quality “Viborg” than the Audience I have “Amphenol”.
Got the wiim amp and wiim remote on a 20% off sale on Amazon Canada had to buy the micca speaker cables too.
the amp usually comes with a remote, just fyi in case this wasn’t on purpose to have a backup
Oh shit i didn’t know that. I couldn’t find any information whether it would come with a remote or not. Thank you saving my like $15. Damn should have used Google lol instead of looking for it in reviews or on the product page
Nice! Lmk if you end up liking them. I’d give it a bit of time for the material to settle in
Any suggestions on where they work best or did you find it was device specific?
On my hp system, all of them benefited. Usually I find more impressive gains on the digital side, but if you neglect the analog side the effect you get on the digital might not be that impressive initially (so I tend to work my way upstream). But obviously there’s no hard rule.
Aren’t you mostly 2ch? If so, I’d prioritize the speakers (assuming the revos are also for them).
Also, experiment with 3 vs 4, unless you have a very hefty piece of equipment.
My second purchase from fog city audio, using mogami, i wanted something cheap but that would be good allaround for my r70x because the stock cable is not very good.
Jesus. Picked this up on eBay for a couple of quid. I didn’t expect much but this phenomenal. Tactile, punchy, very well judged mid bass. Good staging, excellent imaging. I’m genuinely shocked at how good this is.
I wonder how close the 5LE is DNA to the early production 4 screw HE-6…
If it spins, clocks, has tubes or a honking transformer, they should all get them.
Couple of the manufacturers I’ve talked two both said amp first.
After you’ve addressed your speakers of course.
To round out an order of components recently to get free postage I added these Burr Brown OPA134 opamps to try out in the M3 amp. I previously had AD8610ARZ opamps in there.
I am currently applying everything I’ve learnt to build “final versions” of the M3 and Whammy and in the case of the M3 massively simplifying it and reducing the gain to make it work better as a preamp in my chain and as a good head-amp for low impedance headphones and iems. So it was a good moment to explore an opamp swap.
There is a small perceivable difference for me. It is a little less clinical and a touch more musical. Soundstage seems a bit wider and it feels like it might have a little more bass punch. I like it so the OPA134s will be staying.
Happy Tube Thursday! I received 2 different brand 6SN7 tubes, one vintage and one new production.
This one is a chrome dome Sylvania 6SNTGTA. I read good things about Sylvania 6SN7 tubes so I just wanted to try this one out. Of course, I wanted to try them out first.
2nd set of 6SN7 tubes I received is the Ray Reserve 6SN7. There is not too much info on this tube, but I wanted to try these cause why not. I just wanted to try more new production tube.
A beautiful Manzanita burl/resin stand from @oberon
A new Violectric came today!
I also have ordered a high quality XLR switcher from mapletree audio to replace the crappy one I have now. It has high quality switches and point-to-point wiring, no cheap parts used!

More companies should do this, that spud is delicious too. Grabbing the package and I noticed a pleasant scent knew ill have toys inside lol. It was the candle.
Also got a Mutec and Sinope usb. I don’t know what magic is in Fta usb cables, but its everything I hoped for upgrading from Callisto (in 1 word, more fun and forward while retaining the magic).
Keen to hear your thoughts on the mutec.
Is it replacing another ddc?
Its an addition, previously had singxer SU6 which I didn’t like at all and sold it fast (too analytical for me).
The mutec was being fed by Wyred4sound recovery usb and Callisto + boomslang. It was clean clear relaxed with ok dynamics, but removed what used to be glare and grain and harshness in treble without being dark or losing texture, all the treble is there.
I preferred Callisto without Mutec Boomslang even losing technicalities, because the Callisto is already kind of dark and laid back for me so I feel it doubled down with the Mutec. Replacing the Callisto with Sinope and it woke it up, now I like it better than Callisto alone. So together they brought back dynamics and clarity, a needed liveliness, and a tiny more subbass impact.
Got the Mutec because it has Optical in too that I can use for TV duties and Aes for music. I like it alot that I’m now wanting to add their Ref10 clock, but the nano version as I understand its the same as the big one just 4 outputs rather than 8.
So in conclusion, it can change with the usb feeding it quite a bit.
