What have you purchased recently?

I am DONE.

The Kuzma Stabi R table and 4 Point 9 arm finally arrived yesterday. The Dynavector XV-1s and EM/IA (Dave Slagle) SUT were already waiting. The one and only Mr. Michael Trei kindly agreed to come over and do the setup this afternoon and I didn’t know records could sound this good.

This table is a 100lbs beast btw

You can expect me and my AIC to visit soon
Happy listening in the meantime!

Congrats…
A lot of people love the Kuzma tables, I’ve never managed to hear one, it’s just hard to find a dealer for the tables (arms are everywhere) on the West Coast.

Did you wind up knowing if it’s gold or silver? I ended up getting the signature which is a hybrid of all three but I hadn’t been able to find any descriptions.

 right. Congrats though, that looks sexy woodsy. I am available for a listening party whenever. lol

Thanks. It was a tough choice, I started with VPI, went to Feickert and some others and then eventually settled on Kuzma.

I believe Upscale audio carries Kuzma (at least Stabi S), I briefly spoke with one of their guys about a Feickert table a few months back. My local dealer also usually carries the Stabi S and the wood plinth was a special order anyways. So far its a dead quiet table/arm but I’ve only listened to a couple records.

haha you noticed my walnut fetish then

I have some albums i bought to support friends and bands but never had a table. If you come home to find me queuing them up, pay no mind.

Also that looks like cherry or walnut? Not sure if the lighting and picture make it look darker or lighter than it actually is.

Edit: confirmed walnut.

got an opticalrendu and opticalmodule for $515 shipped :upside_down_face:

Dang, not bad, is it the Roon-only lite model or the regular one?

Should be the regular one, and I’m quite sure the opticalmodule is the older version and not the deluxe. These were used as demos by Sonore themselves.
This is what I’ll get:

Are you downgrading again?? Where did the Antipodes disappear to?

Antipodes is still here. I want to compare the rendu to the Red to the K50 to baseline them. USB is supposedly the weakest link with my K50 and if I upgrade to a DAC that prefers USB I’d like to be able to understand the performance gains or deficits I have when switching between the two or choosing one over the other. Also might be that K50 is still better even with USB and I’ll just sell the rendu.
I’ll probably keep the Red in any case because it’s versatile and I use it for airplay from my Mac and Spotify.

for that OR price I couldn’t resist to just get and try it.

I gotcha now, that’s too bad about the usb out on the K50. Time for a Oladra :joy:

If anything I’ll do the upgrade to the K50 mk3 but that’s probably not going to happen ($6K upgrade lol). If I end up not noticing too much of a difference between the rendu and K50 over USB I might sell the K50 and use it towards a Pacific 2.

If you decide to keep it just ditch the Ehernet to optical converter and get yourself a switch with a built in SFP port. If you don’t decide to keep it, I charge you with an obligation to keeping it here in the community when you sell it.

Too good of an item to let go back into the wild.

I find that certain usb ports will cause my Logitech wireless mouse to create interference strong enough to overcome galvanic separation. It’s a kind of faint faint buzz when the mouse or the mouse wheel are moved and it drives me crazy. I am changing back to wired next time. Wireless is just not ideal for mice and hifi.

New cases for my two Geshelli devices, a J2 v1 and an E2. The old ones were looking a little worn. I do like how Geshelli are happy to sell replacement components like this. I wanted to do something similar with my BF2 but Schiit said they never have any spare cases to sell. This though is fantastic customer service. Including import taxes I ended up spending about 50 Euros which is pretty reasonable.

I really like the matte finish on these ones - it should prove much harder wearing than the lacquered effect paint I had on my previous cases. I had intended to change to clear front and back but once I saw how the orange and grey work together I couldn’t resist it.

I recently bought a silent mech keyboard. I went with the Varmilo Minilo 75 with Kailh silent switches. Right off the bat the keyboard is not nearly as satisfying to type on as my custom (but still more satisfying than a membrane), it sure is quiet though. Not only is the silence nice for my wife when I’m on my computer late, but it’s also nice for me when I’m listening to music while using my computer. The only other downside is that the color doesn’t really match with the rest of my desk setup (all other colors seem to always be out of stock) but if I was trying to win style points I’d just switch to my custom lol. It’s a good keyboard overall though and would recommend it if you wanted a silent keyboard.

Very nice, I ended up converting my custom to a silent one when I took a new job and started spending more time on video calls

Hopefully this lives up to the hype. Won’t be able to tell until I have an amp for it tho lol. These seem to be hard to find.
