I always used mine with usb lifted but didn’t really “test” it

Manual says slide the switch to the right to lift Usb.
Okay so I didn’t change it which means it was lifted when I used it. I wish I could just remove the USB card from my Pro since I don’t use it.
I do notice that 90s CD playback tends sound a little bit brighter than versions on streaming platforms. It gives them a feeling of having more detail which with some music genres is really nice - particularly electronica from that era which is no surprise.

As long as you keep it thin you should be good. I think these are more wraps or those graphic dips if i had to guess from the rca version.

Shrink wrap does seem very likely. I was thinking air gun sprayed acrylic, forms super thin layers. Would need a tough varnish layer too.

They do a dip because the inside of the connector is also painted with the same pattern.

Just bought a used etherregen, the pictures of the unit show it being pretty beat up with a lot of scratches and scuffs on the outside of the unit, but as long as it works I’ll be happy haha. $370 shipped seemed like a good deal despite the imperfections. I’ll be sure to compare with/without it between my switch and my UltraRendu when it arrives and I get everything set back up again.

I have been waiting for the EtherREGEN Gen 2 which has been a moving target from like March or April to now 2024…should have just picked up the first gen earlier this year

Yeah I was considering putting my name down for the gen 2, but when I saw the 2024 ETA I just decided I would get a gen1 to use until some gen 2s start to show up on the used market. I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait though since it seems it’s to have quite a few upgrades. Hopefully it comes out early 2024!
