I couldn’t resist…:grimacing: I’ve had a bug up my butt for a Decware Taboo MK IV going on 2 years now. I’ve got 4 pair of Audeze HP’s in the house, 3 of which are pre-fazor models and i needed to hear this amp for myself. It took me a few minutes and a phone call to get it up and operational but once i had myself familiarized with each knob, switch and cable all went smooth. Tubes are hand selected known quantities.
I don’t fuck around, i went straight for Sarah Brightman and her exquisite soprano vocals and then Cassandra Wilson for that rich texture that gives me shivers.

To each his own, this was supposed to simply pass through my hands and move on to someone else. I have a feeling though it will be going into Decware for a modest refurbishment, warranty transfer and then right back into my grubby little hands to join the ever growing collection. @Souldriver, i really look forward to your impressions of your incoming pieces, you wordsmith so well! I’m particularly pleased this one was not to your personal taste, it fits mine quite well :pinched_fingers:

I remember TiVo. The good old days…

The best thing about that amp is it reenforced a lesson i really already knew. Things can be really good and loved by many, but if its not for you then that is ok too. And it is best to try before you buy, even if it means shipping a 60lbs amp.

I am very happy you like it. It really emphasizes what is best on the PFs and elevates some of the weaknesses too.

The black on black on black with gold trim isnt particularly Decware, but it looks really :pinched_fingers:

Btw, are those some BJCs?

Yep, i like the grey ones. They play particularly clean and crisp. What i mean is a nice emphasis on the upper end.

I should not have read that while drinking water. Almost choked.

It is like the remote cable companies gave out in the early 2000s with the cable boxes. Soon youll wear through the silver and that weird yellowish tan plastic will show.

Who wants to make a high class looking remote and sell it to hifi companies?

Finally, now you get to listen to your gear!

quick bf2-rnhp update:
I have to say I’m a bit underwhelmed so far but that’s probably my fault having only the Susvara, Utopia and Mysphere here to use with it… dunno I’ll give it more time but might need to reconsider.

I think you’re in another level now

That stack with something like a clear is where many sit before they climb to a sus, utopia, Wa33, LTA etc.

You’ve heard too much haha!

Yeah was thinking the same thing lol, I don’t really think anything in that range is going to be all that satisfying with those level of cans and the other setups you have/heard lol

A couple audio pickups that I got for reasonably cheap—a Mojo Enigma power cable and a scuffed-up Sonore ultraRendu:

Funnily enough, I wasn’t expecting all that much from the ultraRendu, I more picked it up so that both my main setup and my secondary setup could both have a streamer, but the improvement over the microRendu is really not subtle. So yeah, that was an exciting unexpected win.
