What have you purchased recently?

The speaker out should be exactly the same as the HP out, at least according to Nicholas at LTA when I asked that same question a while back. But yeah most people agree that it just doesn’t have enough oomph with the susvara

I don’t understand how it can be the same if they have very different power specs.
I can understand that it keeps the same sound characteristics but I’m far from being an expert on how it should or shouldn’t be different.
I’ll be getting some cables next week to try it out but I don’t have high hopes. This was bought with the intention of replacing the Enleum and driving 2ch.

this was the exact response I got when I asked

The HI output and the speaker taps on the back have the same output power, so you should get the same results from either one. One note on the amp design, while I’m at it and since you mentioned the “full amp.” There is no separate “headphone section” in our amps. All the outputs use the same circuitry and all of it, including all the tubes. So, you get the same sonic flavor no matter how you choose to listen.

yep, no high hopes for the Susvara.

Blame the Sus though, the HP out is actually excellent with a pretty wide range of cans and 300 ohm dynamics pair very well. I was surprised as to how much the HD600 and VC scaled with it.

I have a HE1000se on its way to give it a try to see if I can keep most of the hifiman house sound and technical elements of the sus but because its much easier to drive maybe it’ll work better with the LTA.
Next in line to try after that are probably Atrium and Utopia.

EDIT: now that I think about it, maybe I should also give the HD800S another try.

I’ve been wanting to get an HE1000se for a while and I keep putting it off for various other purchases (like the Brise cable that I now want to buy, lol), so I’ll definitely be interested to hear your thoughts when the HE1000se arrives!

For such a beefy amp it’s hard not to blame it, but the sus is quite picky. I wonder if it would have trouble with the stealth or expanse

Oh that is pretty.

I wish lta made something very inexpensive just so i could have it for their real cool design.

They make a linear power supply you can buy for $695.

Nice! May I ask what the 2 circles or ports in/on the top front are?

Congrats on the T!

I see you’ve got the NS1, been keeping an eye out for one. Higher end bridges are few and far between in the used market.

What’s the hp currently running?

They are sight glasses so you can see/get to the pre tubes, it also has tube rectifiers in the PSU, you can see the glow on the RHS.

Thanks for the info… I kind of assumed they were something like that but wanted to ask.

Utopia it was the easiest thing to plug in.
Initial impressions even before it’s warmed up with less than optimal 2A3’s in it (using the only spare quad I had lying around EH 2A3’s), it’s very impressive.
I have a problem because all my after market cables are terminated dual 3 pin, so I’m having to use stock cables, ordered a couple of adapters, which will turn up eventually.
