Picked these up NOS for a very good price from a head-fier that preferred a different synergy in his pre-amp.
Did he mark them green for left and red for right @Towa ? That would be an extremely anal and OCD owner… Not a bad thing🤪
Idk I think that might be a Brent Jesse practice perhaps? Either way I’m treating it as so
No they are manufactured that way from what I have read. The colors indicate the end use. They indicate medical, military grade etc
Port and Starboard or as pictured, Starboard and Port…
It’s my wife’s bday, and her new gear day is coming soon!!
Decided to get her the thieaudio monarch mk2 IEM after a lot of deliberation. I think their performance and tuning will be right for her.
She really wants an IEM + DAP so she can put her phone down and enjoy music, so first I’ll grab the mk2 and then next month I’ll probably pick up the Sony Walkman NW-WM1ZM2 DAP for her. Her bday is early November so I’m hoping all the shipping is completed by then! Mk2 is in shipping from Linsoul now, but everyone is out of stock for the Walkman. : /
It’s finally happening…after something like 10+ months, my LRS+ are finally shipping. Couldn’t be better timing with my Magna Risers showing up 2 days ago just to mock me.
Congrats! Long waits suck. Those LRS are supposed to be magical with a good small sub paired to them!
I have a pair of Rythmic F12s sitting in my bedroom waiting to do all the heavy lifting in the bass department. They paired pretty well with the regular LRS when I had them in for a demo and from everything I’ve heard, the LRS+ should be better in every way so fingers crossed lol
This is the setup i am looking at. Rythmic or Rels.
Ill be looking forward to your impressions, i hope it all exceeds your expectations.
I can’t speak on the Rels, but the Rythmics are a tier above every other sub I’ve ever personally tried. They have an accuracy level I’ve only ever heard in headphones and I’m not sure if its the servo design or just the overall package of the Rythmics that makes them so tight but its pretty amazing. And they dig LOW.
I think the Rythmik subs are a better value than the basic REL subs. Now when you start getting into the high end REL’s the ones that cost $2k+ ea. that’s a different story, you would have to really check your budget and do more research on those, i have seen and heard them used in some high dollar set-ups but in quantity and multiples. I like my REL’s and am extremely pleased especially since i basically grabbed B-stock at discount prices and Rythmik have had no such deals in a long while. If i ever do it again from scratch i would do 12” rhythmik’s, a pair not a single.
Well that’s fairly reassuring coming from you. I absolutely love my stereo pair of F12s. They pull a level of immersion out of everything that was completely lacking with every single other sub I’ve had. I had a pair of GSG Full Marty 18" subs and they were epic, they’d shake the house at 3% volume and you knew there was bass when called for, but the accuracy and I almost want to say added overall soundstage and imaging from the stereo F12s make everything feel so coherent and lifelike. Effortless comes to mind and I know that doesn’t make sense because those little 12s are really working to do what the full martys were doing. Makes me want to try some of the dual opposed subs out there with whatever DSP or phase cancelling fuckery they have going on. I’m scared to think it could get better than this bass wise because my wallet is holding a knife to my throat.
I recently purchased a pair of NOS GE 7025 12AX7A tubes for the Quicksilver. They arrived just a bit ago. I need more listening time, but so far they sound pretty great. They are similarish to the RCA 12AX7A that I own, but the GE have some more air up top and tighter bass.
@DDT I’m curious to know if that HDMI cable actually works on the stack…I always thought/assumed it was an “HDMI like” cable but not pinned the same. No idea though for sure, i never actually asked Jeff. Did it work?
Yup, I knew it would since the guy who sold me the ION included some Blue Jeans Cable HDMIs.
Are the 500x very good headphones for the money? Ive always wondered about those as my current $150 champ is k612
