What have you purchased recently?

Dude yeah, I love the box so much too lol. Such a old school vibe. Plus it’s all torn up but at the same time in perfect condition lolz.

@hifiDJ I have to wonder if it’s maybe some marketing thing where digital was just becoming the popular thing at the time? Idk lol maybe CDs were taking off

Got these ndh20 last week for super cheap

The aluminum finish and build quality in general is insane, very comfy as well

Theyre not bad sounding but boringly average, the bass rollof is too much for a closed back and they sound like an incomplete elegia or a1000z so theyll have to find a new home

I dont feel too excited for the ndh30 now, if its the same tuning I dont think making them open would be a good idea; 650$ is too much for that

I loved the neumann! But it was like, OK I should get a senheiser because of it lol. I just felt like it was too closed sounding for me.

I didn’t realize it too much at the time I owned them, but once I heard things like the gh50 and th900PW, from memory I can say that yes, they were very closed sounding.

Word bro, I agree. I think I only realized since I had heard the Eikons and they are fairly open sounding.

I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Z’s shitty headphone recommendations and even shittier shaky cam. Here’s to you Z, :beers: wherever you are this fine independence day weekend!

…I still have a Ship 9500 under the passenger seat of my car.

An emergency shp9500? I think that would just irritate me more than anything else if I needed to grab something from under the seat and pulled out a shp instead

I say, emergency ksc75 on any headband instead lol

What would you look to as your emergency pair of headphones?

If I’m grabbing something from under my seat it’s probably not going to be headphones or any audio product, but if it was, if it was it would probably be what @j.fopps mentioned or the 58x

Just to be clear, it’s there not for emergency, but because every time I’ve tried to give it away to someone it’s been refused. lolz My kids didn’t want it, and I just keep forgetting to drop it off at the goodwill. At this point, the headphone has about 5k miles of driving over the last 10 months.

You can unlock it’s full quality and power once you reach 9500 miles, you can’t give up now you’re half way there. We all talk about burn in, but clearly are neglecting drive in lol

Darn it. None of my headphones have been driven in. I’m leaving performance on the table.

I’m assuming the flight from China doesn’t count?

Full loom of Audience, achieved.

But do cables really make a difference? :upside_down_face:

But how many power cables is that in total, out of curiosity?

4 power cables, 1 speaker cable

A great difference of collecting dust and blinging out the cable salad that is hidden behind my racks.

P.S. There is zero bling. Audience makes pretty generic sleeving. Simple, thin, semi-flexible.

Aries G1 arrived this afternoon. Setup was a breeze. Plugged with Audioquest USB Carbon to the Rockna. Got that for free from the seller, nice surprise and makes it an even better deal.

Also got this nice Viking Weave Raido cable for my VC from head-fi…

Good week so far!
