Singxer DDC thread, SU-1 / SU-2 / SU-6

It will probably be fine but I’d try it with it disconnected as a baseline.

For what it’s worth, I was able to hear a pretty noticeable difference pretty immediately, so there’s at least a chance you won’t need to A/B as much as you’re expecting.

I thought I heard cleaner lines and a blacker background in the 10 minutes I listened. But I’m always very mindful of the placebo effect caused by excitement over a new component, lol.

I remember you had a pi2aes, I’d love to hear the difference and your thoughts about them, heavily considering pi2aes but the inconvenience as a gamer though…

So I haven’t tried gaming with the SU-2 (I’m more of a console gamer and my main audio setup is at my work desk), but it at least passes the ā€œdance videoā€ test for me. If I watch something like this over a Bluetooth connection, it looks like the dancers are off-time with the music and it drives me absolutely nuts, but through the SU-2 it seems perfectly fine:

(P.S. Any other Lindy Hoppers around?)

Can anyone assist or point me towards a guide on how to (or if it is possible to) apply the I2S pin out for PCM I got with my DAC with the I2S setting dip switches on the SU-6 pictured here? Google didn’t tell me anything.

Not 100% sure, but it looks very similar to the SU-2 switches:

Best guess, if you don’t want to use DSD, you just need switches 9 and 10 on.
It’s unclear but to enable DSD you would need to set either one or two to on (not both).
You might have to also toggle switch 6 if it’s not playing properly.

Thank you guys. Those didn’t work- but they actually sounded better than the defaults, lol. I’ll reach out to Singxer and see if I can get a definitive answer.

Will something bad happen if you don’t apply the right configuration? Or is it that it won’t work properly?

Pops and intermittent drop outs of the music is what I got. But nothing caught on fire.

And you know if it was possible, I would have managed it.

Should mostly just click and pop, most of the settings are just determining if the pair of wires associated with a signal needs to be inverted, or whether a clock needs to be doubled.
The first 4 switches just determine how it decides if it’s in DSD mode or PCM.

Anyone know if the i2s on the su2 works with the i2s on the sagra dac?

I wasn’t able to get my Sagra working with a SU-6.

Singxer’s instructions are unfortunately very confusing.
They have not even entered the dip switch position for their own products.
I asked the support team.
However, it can take a few days to get an answer.

If necessary, ask there and hope that there is an answer.
Otherwise, maybe Kitsune could help and be a bit more willing to help.
I think there is a dip switch position for every I2S-capable device.

Would be nice if you have more info to share with us.
