I had the same thought!
Temporary setup/position for the 2ch setup. Sounding hella good 1ft from the front wall and <4ft from the sides.
Super happy with each component and am eager to get them in a dedicated listening room.
Such beautiful speakers man!
Fricking insane!!
Would you say that the WA33 is the best amp you have heard?
(I am contemplating an upgrade, so looking for feedback and the WA33 is under consideration. And I know it depends on the other elements in the chain, music type, preferences etc. but just for normal listening…)
Yes but I haven’t heard other amps in the price range so that’s not saying much.
I’m very happy with the wa33 and it was an upgrade over the formula s I had but I have no idea if I would have liked something like an aic10 more.
If I had the money to be shopping in this price range, I’d be pretty excited to get to hear a ModWright HA 300 (if you end up buying one I will very excitedly read your posts about it, lol)
That’s a new one; I have never heard about that before. Uncle Google to the rescue!
Been a while since I have posted updated pictures of my setup. Upstairs, I still have my same chain, PC > Soekris dac2541 > Violectric HPA V281. I also have a laptop running as my Roon Core in this room for when I listen to music downstairs.
Downstairs in my lower level, this is where I work from home. My chains in this room are:
iFi Zen Stream > Matrix X-SPDIF 2 > Denafrips Pontus II (via i2s) > Luxman P-1u.
iFi Zen Stream > Matrix X-SPDIF 2 > Schiit Bifrost 2 (via digital coaxial) > Quicksilver Headphone Amp
iFi Zen Stream > Schiit Bifrost 2 (via digital coaxial) > Bottlehead Crack Speedball
I also have a rather neglected and cheap turntable, receiver and bookshelf speakers setup. I have been putting off upgrades with this setup as my wife is a nurse and works crazy shifts…so my usage with my speakers is extremely low. The chain is:
Technics SA-5460 Receiver & MCS Modular Turntable > Realistic Nova-6 40-4019A Bookshelf Speakers
That Ifi Zen stream is such a useful unit allowing for so much versatility. That is a wonderful mix of variety across the board👍 The Luxman was a solid buy, i still eyeball them now and again, they are timeless pieces. Continued happy listening always @Hazi59
Greets from Europe/Germany/Hamburg
NONE HEADPHONE SHOWCASE
Here my (almost) finale setup - pretty awesome soundstage without room modifications. Anyone not listened to ELAC Concentro, give it a try (soundstage impressive, bass uffff). IF YOU ARE VISITING HAMBURG, ALWAYS WELCOME FOR A LISTENING SESSION!
Still waiting for my Weiss DAC 501 4ch upgrade.
Curious to how you’d describe the difference with and without the Lumin U2 when compared to streaming from the Weiss.
It is definitely not a huge difference. After changing the PSU to Ferrum on Lumin side, it was for sure improved and very clear. Still neutral, but more depth and bigger soundstage.
UpnP was less exciting, more restrained.
I got the Lumin before the Weiss. I also like using Tidal Connect and Audirvana I’ll start at a later stage. Before will also test external SSD on the Lumin as well (just curious about their USB implementation).
I use a usb thumb drive for mine, it works well. Well… the app still is the app. I wonder if the newer cpu will load artwork faster too.
I think with some of the huge artwork i used it lags things, not sure i want to put in the work to make all them smaller.
The setup looks real cool!
Beautiful setup, more audio porn!
The gear shelving system is really nice, what is it?
Hi Robson,
sorry, some story behind
I like simplicity and was struggling with this extremally over-expensive commercial racks. Also how stupid it is to use glas, don’t like cold-stone or standard steel (+sand) and than adding again wood panels underneath components. Also I was struggling with size for the Rotel Michi to find anything suitable
This kind of BauBuch-Paneel (laminated beech wood, quite happy and very good absorbing, also quite heavy) I used with some Bio-based wood-oiling. He also added into each leg M8 hex-nut to use strong M8-based spikes.
So this online carpenter in Germany does high precice CNC wood work and the total rack (wood) + CNC milling was €490 (without spikes, with: ~€1.000 - ViaBlue and beFly ).
I’ve now ordered an improved versions (more milling for spike coaster that they don’t slip, also from each side to add M8 hex-nut for more stability - it is already quite stable), because another friend asked me to build something similar. So if someone is interested, here is my draw.io diagram - google drive - sorry in German. I’m not an engineer, nor building that professionally - pure hobby during listening sessions
More than happy to leave mine with you for a bit next time im in the area fwiw
Running out of room but it all works well and sounds awesome!
Latest editions are the Quicksilver and the Denafrips Iris. Both add to the mix very well.
Wrong pic…oops
I was just going to say lol, was playing a game of spot the quicksilver and then I saw the rest
