Whaaa… What happened to us? We used to be tight?
@tooApe, that’s a good looking space. Looking forward to seeing what else you do in there. Whom did you purchase your panels from and did they advise you based on info you provided them?
Very cool work in progress, given the reputation of Focal Kantas I can imagine hard reflective surfaces needing to be brought to control. Don’t be afraid to move panels around and don’t neglect the ceiling as a potential placing point and lastly too much of a good thing can wind up being a bad thing so once you got things set up, don’t be afraid to remove individual panels and see what that sounds like.
Park a motorcycle in your listening room, then we’ll talk.
Thank you ! As cool as the bike looks parked up in the main room, it’s far more fun when it’s on the road! The panels are all GIK Acoustics.
Very nice panels, but my god, the lead time. I ordered these in October and just got them in a week or so ago.
@NickMimi
Thank you! The panels are all GIK.
For planning it was a lot of research on my own part, but I also reached out to GIK (they have a form you can request treatment info from) and they wrote back with some ideas. One big thing that helped honestly was playing some music and walking around the room very slowly. The bass would be murderous in some spots and virtually non existent in others.
@dB_Cooper
Thanks! Yeah these Kanta’s really love some reflection treatment. I’ve noticed a meaningful difference just draping a thick blanket over the TV in the middle while listening. Ceiling is a good call, i should look into putting something up there. My next big adventure is going to be that right side glass sliding door reflection, i tried some of those new(ish?) Ikea sound damping curtains and it was…ok, but not great and looked terrible (due in no small part to my lack of household handyman skills ). For now i’ve cheated a bit and just pulled the left speaker closer to the listening position to try to make up for a bit of added right side reflection, but it’s a hack at best .
The sound treatments are sweet, also yes, Nice Setup !!
last time I took one apart in the kicthen I think my roommate genuinely considered shooting me. I am jealous of being able to get away with a motorcycle inside at all at this point
Got this custom printed stand for my P6pro from @j.fopps. A little something to make my portable setup feel more at home when on the desk
I really like the fact that you have complimentary colours going on with the orange and with the purple from the keyboard. Looks gorgeous.
Finally got them in a big enough room but feeling like 8.5ft apart (also 1ft from the front and 3ft from side walls) is a bit too much for them. Losing a lot of low end detail.
Thankfully you have plenty of space for subwoofers.
Room for subs or for Ohm Walsh Talls?
Go the other way around then. Try 1ft from sides and 3 or 4 feet from the front wall. The sides will give you more low end energy and the farther from the front wall will give you more depth
Try 7ft apart and 2ft from the back wall. Keep inching around the space, it’s available so use it!
Yah… i think i need to come in this weekend and actualy pur the rack together thats been in my garage for a month now
I know you don’t have much space there, but I’m surprised that you legit have the Yggy in the floor lol
You are very much in need of a rack.
In fact, I’m a little offended seeing that Yiggy being consigned to the floor. This outrage can not stand.
hey now! Its not on the floor! The power conditioner is…
He has a point
Nobody puts Yggy in the corner!
