LOL I find it way more amusing that the AHB2 is hiding behind the monitor, just barely peaking out
Its mah bay-b amp
But realy. The synergy in spring 3 → ahb2 → sus is real. My complaints about each individual item are adressed and minimized by each other in that chain specificaly. I can 1,000% seeing that being end game for someone and its the cheapest chain i felt made sus worthwhile by like 5k. I do still need to try he6 on it next week though. Its possible i prefer that tbh
Damnit man, I was so ready to put the < $5K amp solution that matches with Spring3 to rest.
If you were planning to step up anyways i wouldnt worry but if you would realy rather stick to say sub 3k amps imo its quite a viable choice
Been a while since I showed anything - Nothing really new, just changed some things around - I’m trying out a Yggy with the OOR and Susvara. I think if I keep this configuration I might want to get a Yggy with the black colorway - the Spring 3 and the OOR/Hypsos were so slick together.
Those are two beautiful setups!!! Did you prefer Vio’s with the Spring over Vio + Yiggy?
Some really nice setups… After the recent drastic upgrades Here is a couple of pics of some stuff
Still have a crapload of wiring to fix up but… It is as always a work in progress. at least this one is. the main listening spot as well as a couple of headphones. The small "garbage can on the left below the window is extra cables for headphones and XLR/RCA type.
What’s the headphone all the way in the left btw? Think I recognized them all except that one lol
Also reeeal nice headphones
Left is Camphor burl Aeolus. Missing is Eikon and Atticus as well as Aeon 2 and others
Really? Isn’t the Eikon the one al the way to the right?
Auteur in Silkwood…Missed 2!!! LCD2 pf center, Hex v2 and Elex to the left and to the right Drop Senn 58x and Nighthawk OG
RIP hahaha and I totally forgot you almost have the entire zmf lineup, ever consider the verite and the Atrium?
Also maaaan crazy to think that I too have owned those headphones at one point (some multiple times too )
Yes I have considered… All are in different woods… Eikon = cherry. Atticus = Padauk and of course these two. I am kind of torn as to the next…It will be Utopia level though. So many to ponder for sure.
Ah didn’t even consider buying them all in different woods LOL. Yeah, I mean I just assumed since u like zmf but yeah might be reeeal nice getting that utopia because I’m sure it will be enjoyable hearing something with higher technical abilities!
Jury is still out, it appears to be more dependent on which headphone I am working, each DAC brings a different feel. The Spring is more resolute and has a remarkable natural effortless flow and feels more real to life so a bit of a nod to the Spring, but that darn Yggdrasil is super duper fun with the 550. I could go either way. Which is good because I am trying to optimize a chain primarily around the Susvara, and the amp I’ve chosen is the Orr/Hypsos, so whatever DAC is not claimed for that chain will move to the v550 setup.
I think I have my setup pretty much where I want it for some time to come! Short of winning a lottery I am not sure there is much I could change to hear an improvement… so… that will be my excuse to buy some other headphones, right?
Hiding on top of the Mutec is a volumio pi. I have an idea to make a posher case for that if I can work out a couple of details. It would be nice to make it worth showing off too!
I’ve taken to using cork coasters where I need to add separation between gear, such as the two Geshelli pieces.
On top of the SPL monitor controller is a very nice HTML audio extractor so I finally have some decent audio out of the xbox and any nuc/server etc I want to connect. I have spent way, way too much time playing with this diagram so now I am going to make you look at it too.
Loving the diagram. Setting a precedence here people.
You should have seen some of the earlier examples, talk about spaghetti! It certainly forced me to really think about the signal chain and how to keep it as simple as possible while still having all my toys. It also really helped me to identify what gear I really needed to compliment things at the points where the signals are distributed or mixed.
Mostly I just love to geek out making pretty diagrams though
Curious to hear your feedback on the Mutec 1.1 if you haven’t left it somewhere already.
yes - this sort of diagram is great for getting the signal chain right! I’ve had my fair share of these drawings, and they always lead me to more simplicity in my setup. I’m digg’n the color code for connection type.
Now you just need to overlay this with power supply connectivity
