On the DNA Stratus with HD650 Black Silk… it’s been a long time since I had this type of sound at home…
He does look like Ted Livine (Buffalo Bill)! ![]()
Too bad you don’t have the Utopia still. ![]()
There are days I wish I still had a Utopia here (either 2022 or OG).. but that can also be said about the HD800S, Atrium, Verite Closed and LCD-5 as well lol
I can imagine why the Stratus synergizes so well with a Utopia, but I don’t think this amp is very right for me from my early impressions at least.
Speaking of Buffalo Bill, if you havent heard Crosses’ cover of Goodbye Horses, you should check it out. Crosses is one of lead singer of Deftones Chino Moreno’s side project bands…
Legit great cover.
Nice! Thanks man.
Brand new Linkin Park song that was previously unreleased. Now released for their 20th anniversary edition of Meteora. Chester’s voice will always be held close to my heart.
I’ve had a good time listening to Julia Michaels’ Not in Chronological Order album this week, but it definitely has a lot of “are the monogamists okay?” going on with it lyrically in spots, lol. Anyway, it’s pretty normal pop music, enjoy:
I loved this just for the artwork on the album cover!
I really like Without You from that album.
It’s beautiful isn’t it? I always enjoy when an album cover leads to discovering a new artist.
You can really hear The Postal Service sound on this track in particular (even without Ben Gibbard’s vocals). A really great album, IMO.
Even better is that The Postal Service is going on tour this year.
pretty great album… the 2022 remaster did a nice job as the OG version was bass light and felt like the mids were thin.
It’s amazing how such an old recording can sound so good. I really enjoy the whole album, but this is also a good example of ‘hearing the room’.
Just came across a new artist thanks to Tidal’s “My Daily Discovery” playlist. Her name is Katy Kirby. Check out her album Cool Dry Place. She reminds me of one of my other present favorites, Madison Cunningham. They’re both clever lyrically and in their song compositions. Highly recommend giving her a listen (and Madison as well)!
P.S. I’m excited to see Big Thief live tomorrow night. Hope my expectations aren’t too high!
