Just booked the hotel and have tickets for the train to get there. Hope to see some of the forum members there. I missed out on meeting some of you last time.
Will absolutely be there both days, looking forward to meet people!
Also planning to head there this year! Hoping to hear a lot of new stuff and meet some people from sonvs ![]()
For the NYC show, parking is stupid and Manhattan in general is a pain to drive in nowadays with the new tolls all over the place. Thus my question to those going if I were to drive up early morning the 9th, where in Jersey would be a reasonable place to park and then how the hell do I get over into NYC?
I know how to do it from the Queens side if need, and that is a possible alternative plan but I’m curious if there is any benefit and a monetary savings to park in Jersey? ![]()
Drive to DC and take the train from there.
Amtrak comes all the way down to me I think
I took the train once 20 yrs ago. I’m not a big fan. If I quit smoking by then I might consider. I’m not spending 6 hrs on a train without smokes.
The central bus station (NY Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal) is an 8 minute very simple walk to the Canjam hotel and it one of the busiest bus terminals in the world, I’m sure you can find something that’ll get you there easily.
@NickMimi youre probably better off taking a bus over or train from the dc area but any NJ train will come into Penn Station at their NJT hub. The only time i took NJT the first few stops were Newark, Hoboken, amd the confusingly named NJ Penn Station. I am not sure parking is much better or safer there. If youre further out in NJ and near a connecting station it may be ok.
God forbid I had my own place i would say drive there and stay the night but we are both out of luck there.
Port Authority, Penn, and Grand Central are all ~10 minute walk from the hotel theyre having it at.
Yes, I’m familiar with the area and it’s absolutely not car friendly. Early enough on a Sunday morning there used to be parking but they closed off so many streets etc it’s a total mess there.
I need to see what parking lots are around the space and just eat the cost, there’s simply no reasonable way to get in and out of the city anymore. I may consider just staying over night, I need to verify my work schedule. NYC has simply become a real pain in the ass and stupidly expensive to drive into
they take you for every penny they can and also make it inconvenient…
Hope you at least get free tickets.
Congratulations on your “15 minutes of fame” ! ![]()
