Edit: Shortest period of time I have ever had a piece of kit, traded these in 48hrs for exactly what i wanted. No idea how they even sound…
Had a whole lot of points/credit w/ a vendor. 2021 Audeze LCD-X was available
w/ minimal wait time so here it is…
I want a Grado PS2000e, someone trade me or buy this off me.
Same, I about fell over when I saw the price for the cable, sheeesh. Definitely looks extremely nice though… but I don’t think I could justify that price tag for a cable myself
I would love to have/hear a lazuli nirvana but yeah that is too expensive for me as well… maybe some day but for now I will stick to 1k used as my line in the sand for cables lol
The ultra or the reference is the sweet spot anyways, I will admit I really had to push myself to justify the nirvana in the end, basically just ended up in a spot where the only thing left I could feasibly upgrade is the cable lol, otherwise I wouldn’t have done it, just basically getting every ounce of performance left at that point
I was actually gonna buy a reference plus brand new but then a deal for the regular reference popped up at a decent price secondhand at just the right time lucky
I could give impressions, but basically everything that other forum friends are saying in the dedicated thread is true (background, imaging, staging, etc). Though note that I’d also started off with some USB wonkiness from my Exogal DAC, so if anything, I might even be getting a little bit more of a boost than your average DAC pairing.
I really want to know if the new 2021 lcd-x keeps its magical synergy with the bf2+rnhp chain but it seems there isnt much info out there yet. I would love to “swap out” my older pair for a newer, lighter, more fr correct set if it did.
I honestly did not even unpack the HP, i traded it immediately for a Grado, which have great synergy w/ more of my amplifiers. I have other Audeze models which i enjoy plenty. Good luck, i am sure plenty of reviews will be forthcoming.
