Wait…didn’t you buy those forever ago?
Wow, good memory!!
I bought them when they were released and then cancelled the order in favor of something else. Been intrigued even since. The road not traveled!!
Nice! Any initial (pre-burn in?) impressions?
Haven’t had a chemce to even plug them in. Work-> Orthodontist Appt-> now Cooking dinner. ![]()
Ur jaw/teeth ok
?
Just got 5 minutes but I think I"ve got a handle on the basics. Wow, getting better at this! ![]()
This is with none of thje included sound inserts, and all compared to the Focal Clear. Good bass extension. Less overall bass than the Clear. Pleasant fun tuning. Nice texture for the price.
Dynamics wise, they’re pretty flat. For me, that sort of a wet blanket over it’s positive traits.
The ergonics are amazing.
If I have anything more I’ll put it in the right thread. ![]()
That’s unfortunately the biggest flaws of these things, I just can’t love them
Hello,
I am as happy as a child or as if I had just found the dac, headphones, amplifier of my life.
I already know that my wife would like to kill me at the first moment.
If she still knows the price for it when I showed it to her.
The short story is that our toaster is slowly falling apart.
You have to preheat it so that it is halfway reasonable in the first run.
Which is annoying and has only ever been an alternative.
I used to have a good one from Tefal that I got as a birthday present and accidentally broke.
Never gets the stupid idea to go in there with the knife.
Why I’m so happy now is easy to say.
Who can still remember the first time they bit into toast in their life?
Hmm, how tender and fluffy it was and sooo crispy.
Apart from the Tefal, no one has ever come close to it.
Let’s see if this one does it Mitsubishi Electric Toaster TO-ST1-T.
A few months ago we were still joking on Hifiguides about toaster, but this one has stayed in my head.![]()
I was able to bargain it down a bit on Ebay and unfortunately you need a voltage converter for the Eu.
And you still have to pay a bit of duty.
But I hope my wife will forgive me if she bites into the toast.![]()

You’re a lucky man, my wife still gives me toast made from a Dualit, 1946 analog toast technology.
In itself, yes, but she doesn’t know yet that I bought it.![]()

She wasn’t reluctant when I showed it to her, only when she saw the price.
And said no.
But now that the toaster is about to break, I have a second reason, and the third is that a man also buys household appliances.![]()
So there’s a good chance she’ll forgive me.![]()
Hopefully it’s something like if the toast didn’t taste so good, honey, I’d cut your head off.
Let’s wait and see, it will take another 1-2 weeks before it arrives.
If I don’t get in touch again, you’ll know why.![]()
The toaster from 1946 doesn’t sound bad either. Does it still taste good?
Ive taken to putting a pad of butter in a frying pan, melting it, then putting the bread on top to soak up and “toast”. Bonus points for a little strawberry preserves once its warmed, and putting the tiniest pinch of salt and pepper in the butter as it melts.
What your making is what the British call fried bread, though it’s usually done in a lot more fat, usually bacon fat prepared to eat with the rest of the breakfast,
Oh my, that sounds amazing…

Fried bread! That makes sense! Now can you work on jumpers, trainers and fags?
Fried Bread is distinct from toast, it has toast like properties, but it’s very much not toast, the bread absorbs the fat before it browns.
One of the things that occurs when you move to the US, is your vocabulary changes relatively quickly, it’s just annoying to have to keep repeating yourself with different words.
There are till a few sneak in.
There is also significant regional variation in vocabulary in the UK.
Yes, and it leaves the backside of the slice nice and soft still. Im not a big fan of toasted bread with so much crumbs and dryness but this is a good compromise.
I make a fake cuban (fuban) where i heat the ham and cheese, put it warm on bread with mustard and a sliced pickle, then put it all back on the the griddle to melt together. So good on cold days.
They sound normal to me
No reason to change them.
Get a slice of pork roll in that Fuban and you’re only a good bread away from the real thing. Throw some butter on the bread before the mustard.
When we jave left over pork loin from the night before i usually do that and maybe sneak a little kraut
It’s been a while since I talked about the Xbox Series X, but it’s such a great console. (I dunno, maybe it’s less good if you want to be playing all the newest games all the time, but for someone like me who has a mile-long backlog, Game Pass + backwards-compat is amazing. Shouts to anyone else who finished Prey for the first time in 2022, lol.)
Anyway, my SSD expansion arrived in the mail today!
