Can confirm. Will put the digital vu meters on while using the dap even though it will burn through the battery.

Unfortunately those just look like VU meters, they’re for tube biasing.
No bouncing needles for @Veritas .

I guess with 8 tubes to deal with, the biasing meters are a great addition and much desired assistance.

I had no idea where to put this so… it’s kiiiind of a new thing? I made them from new things?

I made a pair of interconnect cables with Elecaudio FC105T 45 strand per 0,12mm copper audio cable and mainly Neutrik gold plated jacks. The 4.4 mm female jack is a cannibalised gold plated connector. Wires are individually sleeved paracord and woven to give a little stiffness but retain flexibility - I am not keen on adapter cables hanging too loosely in front of equipment in case they get knocked into it.

I can make cables, but I probably couldn’t weave to save my life, much respect to you madam.

Helps that I can crochet? Although this is more like some of the more fiddly 20 hole Doc Marten lace patterns I used to do :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

It has saved my big volume feet especially with hockey skates. Those extra few mm you get from a different lace makes a word of difference

I present to you my most impulsive purchase yet

I was looking to get some used headphones from audeze, but the itch got too strong and adorama email price looked at me

They sound quite underpowered through my burson funk, not very detailed, like a bassy sundara (the mids are very very good tho)

I am gonna keep them because I was heavily taxed and blue is my favorite color

Edit: After listening to them all night I recognize I judged them wrong. They are probably the most detailed headphone I own in terms of resolution, the lack of quality power reflects in poor soundstaging, body, speed and lack of control; still for the $600 +taxes I paid its totally worth it even with my current setup.

The tonal balance and opennes are outstanding, as well as the instrument separation, the vocals and midrange are the best I’ve heard from hifiman- the bass is linear and goes down to 20hz. It completely rekts the anandas and will motivate me to upgrade my setup.

I recently purchased the Final Audio D8000 headphones, the Ferrum OOR + HYPSOS stack, a Benchmark DAC3b, and because I’ve been wanting something a bit more portable and convenient (and the D8000 made me a fan) I decided to give Final Audio’s new TWS earbuds a try, the ZE3000.

I’m literally vibrating waiting for everything to arrive, but at least the ZE3000 arrives today and I’m excited to give em a try!

I dove in with a nice schiit stack and some Hifiman.

Jotunheim 2 w/Bifrost 2

Got the Lokius EQ coming in today

That should satisfy my rig for now. I went through several headphones before landing on HM. Hd 560s, Meze 99 classics, Ananda and then XS due to Comfort issues.

I’ll be upgrading to Arya shortly and after that I might go in on a Lyr 3 or Liquid Platinum. I’ve been broke ever since joining the hobby lmao

Firstly, welcome.

Secondly… just take it slow. The more you prolong the listening on your current gear the more you’ll hear the differences when you compare it to your new gear. Take time to get to know stuff, even if you don’t like it at least you’ll be able to know WHY you don’t like it and then use that information going forward. It also will give your wallet a little more recharge time. Changing your mind in the early game is cheap and easy. Changing your mind or going in a different direction in the late stage can be costly, so really listen for what you enjoy, regardless of the opinions of others.

Hi there, welcome!

I actually have previously owned an Arya V2 and definitely enjoyed them quite a bit. I just recently sent it out for RMA back to Apos due to the left driver dying out suddenly without any previous symptoms. I would suggest that if you are going to go with an Arya, do a bit of research on the V2 vs the newer Stealth Magnet for which sound signature you might dig more.

If you end up considering the Stealth Magnet I would suggest purchasing from somewhere that offers warranty above and beyond the manufacturer warranty in case you run into problems like I did. V2s unfortunately can only be found used now, so warranty is kinda out of the question for those, I was fortunate that Apos offers a 2nd year warranty on purchases otherwise I would’ve been SOL.

You have yourself a very nice setup - Bifrost 2 / Jotunheim 2 is a pretty awesome stack and if you go the route of adding a Liquid Platinum its even more versatile and amazing. Not just because I had that setup - but because it really is. Some good synergy with those pieces and capable of working a wide selection of headphones with very good results.

Truth

Welcome !
