It really has been a while since I’ve seen you buy anything
Sounds like you’re bout ready to cave.
Hello Mike ,
Some goals right there. lol
Wait, crap. I bought some tiny radials from bmn, but sold something else for them. Only needed them to have something on my desktop
I can relate. I was 10 months clean.
I actually almost broke twice. Once, on a susvara and another on the traillii. After some thought, I was just fooling myself because I greatly prefer speakers and my gf is quite happy with the system as well. So, I’m safe for now. I have my eye on a pretty pricey pre amp but it’ll take some saving. After that, any improvements will require second mortgages
Congratulations? I guess it’s not a bad place to be because no one in their right mind unless you run an audiophile forum would do that.
I’m actually just looking to piece together improvements outside of the audio component chain. A lot of low hanging fruit there. For example, I got my acoustic panels from Gik delivered last week and even though they’re not mounted yet, just presented in the general location where they’re going to land, I can hear a improvement in the room.
That reminds me, I think that’s something I’m focus on this year too. Assuming changing speaker position is impossible I’ll focus on room acoustics. Bass traps, acoustic panels etc!
DIY route?
For someone with the space and tools to DIY, they’re not hard to build and you can probably make them for 1/3 the cost of Gik
Let me guess…plywood, glue, fabric and a staple gun?
don’t forget insulation
good video imo - How to Build Your Own Acoustic Panels - YouTube
Bought someone’s RNHP amp, and my Singxer SA-1 has finally shipped out (took some additional time due to existing supply-chain issues.) Also grabbed an RCA switcher + cables to bounce between the amps.
Famous last words, but I’m potentially done for the rest of the year. I want to save for an RME ADI-2 at some point, since I’m sucked into crossfeed + parametric eq and won’t leave.
I’m like the opposite lol. Saved up for 6 months (“clean”) and just blew it all on audio stuff. (Just scroll through my posts on this thread)

Most people in recovery make several attempts at abstinence before they are successful. Keep at it! We believe in you!!!
