What have you purchased recently?

My collection is midrange centric, I’m used to quality mids and expected nothing shy of excellence, the RAAL tweeters is where my curiosity really lay :hugs: I want to see how much more “air” i can get out of my set-ups and how the top end flavors vary….

To me the biggest special sauce of that speaker is the balanced mode radiator, but the raal driver is quite nice too lol

I’m a big ribbon driver fan, but they can get a bit shrill if they are underpowered.
Though for just a tweeter it shouldn’t be too torturous a load.
I’m always fascinated by the number of different competing speaker designs that are all competitive in some aspect of music reproduction.

No flea-watts for these, direct to the VR-L2iSE, It’s about 140 wpc @8 ohm

Just noticing the color is very much in the palette of the rest of the room. It’s like you ordered them specially made.

I found the tweeter very smooth, not shrill in the slightest, but I was using a beefy Cary amp with them. I would suggest you try them near field at some point. I know they might be too big for your desk but given their radiating pattern, I think they’ll do well. 3.5 to 4 feet apart and sitting about 3 feet from them.

Recently got the Unique Melody Mest Mk 2 and Kinera YH802 Limited Edition.

The Kinera are a TWS with a non offending frequency response, neutral-ish with some bass boost and a lot of sub bass roll off. However they are used more so for the convenience factor. I just have to get used to the feeling of them falling out, especially coming from IEMs that have an ear hook that secures them in place.

The UM Mest are a fantastic set of IEMs. A lot of people have recommended them as ‘end game’ and while they won’t stop me from buying other IEMs in the future, they do have some of the best tuning I’ve heard so far in an IEM. The bone conduction driver is also something quite special when you hear the low notes shake through your head.

The cable is real nice on them too (sound wise) which people don’t seem to talk about lol. The mest are really solid iems overall, pretty unique and worthwhile at their price point. I don’t really think they compete upwards too much, but they don’t really have to either

In most IEMs I would change the cable but these have remained stock. The metal connectors and y-split make it feel well built, they complement the IEMs. I haven’t had any issues with the sound on these. It’s not an ‘added in’ cable like a lot of other sets but seems like some thought was put into it.

Do they scale well too? Or so-so?

Imo mest mk2 don’t scale basucaly at all. I am personaly just as happy with them off of a hip dac as I am with tjem off of my p6p

It’s pretty forgiving on source gear pairing (which I somewhat suspect is one reason for their more widespread popularity)

I also agree. Tbh, if you have like a 1200-1300 budget total for a portable setup its pretty hard to beat mest mk2 + a dongle imo. Once you start having better source gear anyways there are other options but I also think they their more unique staging and vaugeky consumer tuning draws a lot of people in for a more simple listening experience as well.

This came a day early and overall on the early end of the estimated production time.

The golden hour sun is coming in but my phone just wants to add a bunch of noise in anything more dim lit or black.

I have a 4.4-xlr adapter from plussound. Good cables!!!

I’ve been curious about this set since they came out. Even though I have Andros, I’ve still always wanted to give these a try. Saw them on drop for a decent price and decided it was finally time to see what these have to offer. So far, pretty solid set for the price, It’s the most well balanced set I’ve heard in the chifi space imo. Great fit for me with a set of it’s stock tips, which is super rare for me. I usually have fit issues with iems. They seem to have changed a bit from break in already, seem to have warmed up a bit. They were very dry straight out of the box. Whether this is physical or brain burn in I’m not sure. I’m gonna try my effect audio cable after I get a bit more acclimated to them in their stock form.

Also, super excited to have a Lotoo PAW 6000 on the way to me. I’ll put some impressions on that in its thread once it arrives.

Just bit a bullet and bought these guys open box. I feel a bit torn because originally I had been saving up for Spatial Audio Sapphires. When the time came though, I didn’t feel comfortable with it. Klipsch just has more of a legacy of support. The only way I would’ve felt comfortable with the Spatials is if I had a dealer near by. I know, the logic is fairly dumb but honestly I’m just happy that I got something instead of go on an endless research fest again.

I know that these won’t be perfect, no speaker is. But I’m optimistic and have my fingers crossed (and the comfort of a money-back guarantee).

Didn’t buy them myself, my bro gave these to me as a Christmas present! Assassins creed 3 (last good assassins creed game imo) and the crash bandicoot trioligy! Which I grew up playing as well as the Spyro games (another trioligy I own!)

Small rant: Switch game boxes suck. Not the box shape or material, but they literally don’t have any booklet. I always loved the booklets that came with games from the DS etc etc. These feels so empty and void lol
