Youre lucky. I know some people that are very high on the list and are waiting a bit longer. Let us know what you think.

You got a really cool zig-zag grain pattern.

@Robson that metal knob in the back, is that WC Lathewerks?

I know I’m fortunate. And I definitely will. The Torrified Black Limba is just beautiful in person, it changes color and has great depth and chatoyance.

The spinner is a Mezmoglobe, it was a Christmas gift from my son a couple of years ago. It’s a really nice one, not some crappy knockoff (I’ve seen those too). It’s heavy, has a good bearing, and spins a long time.

Oh it looks like my shift knob. Theyre all handmade on an old Harding lathe

I received mine today too, love it. After hearing it in the shop i had to get one. Intimacy, tactility, and vocals are the stars of the show with this one. They nailed the tuning this time around. Amazing velour pads. I don’t feel the ported pads are needed, its definitely not lacking bass.

@geoffalter11 eas gracious enough to lend me these. Compared to can jam this audition was way more positive. On the Bf2 → rnhp pc chain it was darn good but i decided that the hd800s was enough for me. Its been gone a week and there have been times i wish i had it around still. But i am resisting spending money

@Jetman enjoy it and let us know how it is on that Quicksilver.

Of course, I am enjoying on the Bryston now then the QS then the Feliks. It will be a tough couple of days but I will just have to struggle through! Hmmm cable wise I am going to have to convert from 4.4 to 4 pin XLR then to 6.3mm. That should make a 30ft cable!! LOL!

As someone who likes the simpler patterns and doesnt personally like the color mixed stabilized looks, you got one of the best looking ive seen

Grats!

Yeah the wood is Torrified Black Limba, which means it’s been heat treated and essentially tempered, as virtually any residual water content is driven off and it stabilizes the wood. The process is usually used on Black Limba that will be used for instrument making, as it also changes its sonic qualities making it a very nice tone wood.

It also changes the wood’s appearance, making it darker but also its color shifts depending on viewing angle and lighting, changing from light to dark and back again. It’s very cool stuff, with beautiful grain and chatoyance. It looks great in person. :+1:

Ill try to snag an auteur or eikon classics with a wood as similar to this because thats my budget, I had no idea about the process, it looks a lot simpler in photo than it actually to get this finish.

Maybe an atrium closed if im feeling wealthy.

The aesthethic I tried to mean I dont like is the one that looks a bit like an epoxy bath but thats just me, I think most people actually prefer those.

I have 3 ebony headphones and they all do something similar to what you describe, its just impossible to capture on a picture or even several.
