I’ll try to compile something more helpful than my 48 hour head-fi impressions by end of weekend.

Should I get it in black or white?

For me, always black. Congrats too!

+1 on black, but the white one is real nice too! I say go with the color that best match the room.

Picked up a new set of Pads for my Utopia.
Coupled with the Pads for the Susvara, I picked up recently, I now have more money in Pads this year than I do in the rest of my system……

Honestly it was well worth it, both sets of pads were heavily used, and both headphones are noticeably better with the new pads,

DHC Chimera speakers cables. This is the Single version (think headphones cable but longer and with spades) but Peter will be introducing Double and Quad versions as well (quad is basically four Singles, two go to each speaker).

Have a plumber on the way as our hot water heater is dunzo. The ballpark quote to go tankless with a Navien npe-240a2 unit is like $6k. I could get another tank for 4.5k but would rather just go tankless.

Dude, sorry to read this! Been a lot of home expenses recently with the crowd here. Tankless water heater is great, get a good warranty and perhaps some bundles service visits as that can sneak up!

Do you have a recirculation pump for hot water? Looks like you might from the pic.

Just be careful as tankless systems and recirculating pumps dont always work well together. The pump might not draw enough water to activate the heater. You will need to check the specs on the tankless system to see what the minimal draw needed is and whether the recirc pump meets it. Might not matter depending upon how far your longest run for hot water is.

Ive actually just stuck with “renting” a hot water tank which means no added cost replacement if I need it - hot water tanks havent lasted me long enough to justify an outright purchase. Never had one last more than 6 years so renting has saved me $$.

I’ll ask the plumber about that issue. This is the one I’m getting:

Yes I have both a softener and a recirculating pump.

12 year parts and labor warranty on this one with a water softener. A 20 year warranty on the heat exchanger.

That makes an outright purchase more favourable.

It may be fine for you, I just know that the equipment options I had available to me at the time when I was thinking about going tankless made the two systems incompatible. The pump didnt meet the tankless minimum draw.

Arkfeld Pro

Amazing for its size… I also realized that I need to get one of those Stax dust covers for my Susvara thanks to the UV light :scream:.

I just decided to pull the trigger on a pair of Hisenior Mega 5 Est 7th Anniversary Edition. Based on all of the research I’ve done, the sound signature is very close to my preferences. Hopefully, shipping won’t take too long.

I’m behind on a couple purchases:

About a month ago I picked up a P12 used on a crazy good deal and swapped out the P3. I certainly don’t need 1200W of power, but I really like the extra features. It’s tough to really A/B test power plants without losing my mind swapping cables, but I do think it sounds better (confirmation bias, let’s go!)

And last week I picked up a Nimbus US5 Pro and swapped out my much loved V550. This is a no joke upgrade for me. My two main headphones are Utopia and Expanse. Utopia is much more filled out in the low end, even having a little thickness to it (not thick in an absolute sense, but thick for a Utopia). And the Expanse is really bringing it with more detail and sound stage. At the rated 23ohm impedance of the Expanse the US5 has 30% more power, and wow does it show! I’m not a huge fan of the relay based volume control, but it sounds good so who cares
