I picked this up for pennies on eBay last week. Pleasantly surprised at the audible difference. My system isn’t the most resolving, but I instantly heard a difference; the treble seemed ever so slightly clearer and smoother. I noticed this most readily in the attack and decay of cymbals.
I’m looking forward to hearing what my other little tweaks do.
That gave me a really good and much needed laugh Keith. I indeed meant vibration isolation stabilization but perhaps some financial stabilization too lol
We all share the same needs, and probably gear-addiction help.
Someday I hope to take on a DIY sandbox/platform project. The idea of sand spilling into my gear is a little troubling, but some folks have indicated success.
Stack AUVA isolations seem cost effective. I’d be interested in doing some of those but I’m height-space limited on many components…
Got a Wiim Amp delivered today (bought on USAM) for a 2.1 TV setup… so far setup was a breeze and I’m surprised by the amount of settings and tweaking available through the app. It is replacing a 2017 Sony AVR and connected through HDMI ARC.
I don’t really have any expectations or requirements from this system other than to work seamlessly for the rest of the house but I’ll share more impressions of living with it a little longer term as I get to use it. Might try it upstairs with my real stuff at some point too.
I never heard either FT3 headphone. Sound wise, the closest to this, in my collection, would be the iBasso SR2, minus the forward mids.
It has very nice bass and soft/muted treble. I like the feel, the look and the heft. Nice headphone for $599.00 in Canuck bucks.
