also Imma sneak in here and just say if you need to offload anything lmk cause you have a few kits I would love to build. particularly that pod ball so hard to get
yeah I’m currently experiencing this again with books, specifically Japanese light novels and manga. Just the sheer space needed to store it all is crazy haha, luckily bookshelves are easy to integrate into already existing rooms and layouts and a dedicated reading space can easily be multipurpose for other uses besides just reading.
Sooner or later I will get to the point where it’s becomes harder to manage, I’m currently sitting at around 800 books in just the last year if that number doubles again in the next year then I will need a more dedicated space for it all, either that or start putting bookshelves in my bathroom and hallways LMAO
I hope to, now that work has slowed down and other things in my life has settled.
There actually is a plamo topic I created a while back, it has a few of my custom builds posted.

@rice feel free to post some of your builds if you like.
for me plamo was one hell of a rabbit hole hobby, but the toy photography aspect was also hella addicting and a whole other hobby. Luckily I never got too deep before I went on hiatus otherwise I’d probably have a bunch of camera equipment now too ![]()
that’s how it starts lol
i’ll keep it in mind, Im still holding onto hope that I will get back into it when I move into a bigger space.
Only 2 months into the hobby so I haven’t built too many yet so here are all of them as you can tell I love the WFM designs even though I think the anime is mid.
WTF is a “cable smoother”?
I asked brise back then… Nothing to do with sound, it’s just a spray you can apply once the outer sheathing becomes stiff after some time… It’s used to keep the cable ergonomically fresh
Finally decided to archive my cd’s and dvd’s (maybe) 6 full big boy Case Logics to get through, hopefully this thing doesn’t explode…
grandpa what’s doom?
Wasn’t there an update with the same name Circa 2016, and didn’t the last version ship in 2020?
In my joke, I visualized the kiddies asking, playing Fortnite.
Well there is a good chance most people reading wouldn’t recognize the keycap as a representation of a 3.5in floppy disk.
One of the funny iconographic things is that most younger people don’t recognize the save icon as a floppy disk (because they’ve never seen one), they’ve literally just learned that you click on it to save.
Funny story from the OG version of Doom I joined a startup around 1994 and the CTO insisted we use Novell Networks internally just because Doom only ran multiplayer on IPX networks at the time.
I was just having a conversation with someone about just hat. I had no clue how to network with IP addresses but was able to set up Doom to run on ipx/spx. We had about 6 people that stayed hours after work playing doom on the network.
It got to the point where I had to push people to leave the workshop so I could close and go home. This was mid 90s. That’s where my career in data networking started. lol
EDIT: also just remembered beta testing Windows 95 and having a stack of 35 or 40 floppies to get through the install. Pain.
I remember as a kid having to boot Doom from the DOS prompt, changing directories, and looking up the exe everytime because I thought it was required. I was also a big Gorillas enthusiast, if you all remember that.
id games are still my favorites after all these years. I was explaining to a coworker yesterday how sound used to work on those games where if you didnt have the exact soundcard it was created on then you were hearing something different.
Also, i think Doom had the button that if you press it put up a fake pie chart so it looked like you were working.
Everybody was busy playing Doom while I spent hours and hours playing Tie fighter seeing how much damage I could take and still go on in the game. I was too simple minded to realize there was a simple pattern to the fights that I did not figure out for months. ![]()
Doom Shloom…
Everyone knows that it was all about Castle Wolfenstein loaded from 18 floppys on your PackardBell 386DX with a 9600 Baud modem and chattiing with your pals on Wildcat BBS
runs and hides …
Rockville stands came in today, really impressed for what you get for $70 in terms of build quality. Doing a complete white themed overhaul in the studio, step one complete…
Received my Affinity Adapters today. Pretty nice and pretty short. Have a utopia cable coming in so it’ll be nice to use it with the 800. Plus I’d rather use the lemo connectors vs 800 connectors when unplugging them from the headphone.
Oooh, which utopia cable?!
