I’d certainly space them out. I had to do that in a warmish room with an A3/BF2 combo - would get properly hot.
What’s in the glass though?
HA! I’m drinking while it’s still work time. Celebrating with a mimosa (had a bottle of good brut in the fridge) and eating stuff from a gift basket I received today. LOL
It is obligatory to go on the SA teamspeak and clack them into the mic now.
me and alb are on there now if you want to hop in lol
Excuse me some of us work. Then i have to take my post work stare at a wall session
Some of us neglect work too lol
Good for you! Thought it might be some really natty, turbid orange wine.
That; is perfectly affordable crack and it fulfills your, so keep on keeping on.
Yeah gives me the same fulfillment as building keyboards and PCs for a fraction for he price genuinely great hobby to do while using my expensive(to most people) audio equipment that I have accumulated over the years along with you guys.
Demo 1 is set up and being thoroughly enjoyed. Demo 2 will be set up tonight.
Also, this bad boy just arrived. Got a great deal used, but misadjusted the bracelet so ill have to mess with that some more later.
Not really the same thing, but my fiancé and I enjoy building these… it has a similar itch and pretty fun as well.
That’s an awesome cable. Congrats! Completely missed this sale. Oh well!
Edit: @PaisleyUnderground how’s that CuTECH XLR? I was thinking of going with Furutech but those look pretty nice. They smooth when plugging and unplugging?
That is actually pretty sweet. I love the greenhouse one.
Apparently I bought a Atlas headrest for my embody while I was drunk last night. Definitely not the worst intoxicated decision I’ve made.
It’s a nice addition IMO.
I’ve thrown considerably more money at more questionable items in the hobby. After speaking to some folks that said this made a difference, I had a debit gift card with enough money left in it and figured I’d try it. The point with LC/APC fiber optic connections is that they’re cut and polished with an 8 degree angle which is supposed to reduce the chance of reflected light going directly back into the fiber. The negative is that it takes an SFP connector capable of supporting it since the angle adds a slight gap.
Got another classic that just came in, the Yamaha YH-1 (no mods, original stock) with the original box! These headphones got some serious bass, I tested them with a new rap album “For All The Dogs”, mostly “Daylight” and “IDAF” and the bass sounds really nice. I wouldn’t say the bass is hitting (it got some decent rumble), but it reaches pretty deep to me and sounds really nice and clean. Also tested other genres and I noticed vocals are strangely hogging most of the spotlight in my music through various genres. Not the most clear vintage headphone, I say the Sennheiser HD250 Linear II is still the most clear vintage I listened to, but under $100 it exceeded my expectations. Even though the clarity is not there, the vocals have this strange sense of addiction to them that makes me really enjoy them. It’s not as sweet or warm as the ATH classics, but it sounds very pleasant to my ears.
I haven’t started the real test… listening to “The Dark Side Of The Moon”. I think this is probably everyone most recommended album when I was searching for the Yamaha YH-1 songs/album recommendation lol. I just listen to some modern music to see if these still sound good on them and they do. Unfortuntely its a week day and I don’t want to get crazy, so Imma save that test on the weekends
. I got a really good headphone from the 70s/80s then I got to travel back in time at least when the weekend comes.
So far, my favorite sounds from the Yamaha YH-1 is its unique vocals and how awsome the drums sound on these. I say I am liking more with studio focused songs more than classical. I quickly listened to music like “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires: 2. Invierno Porteño (Winter)” - Arabella Steinbacher and “Symphony No. 3, Op. 55 “Eroica”: I. Allegro con brio” - William Caballero, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. With my memories of my recent live orchestra, it didn’t scratch my back the way the Mysphere 3.2 did for those songs, and oddly the Onkyo A800 (but for a different reason because of how it does these in the lower end of the spectrum and oddly makes the stage sounds pretty huge the way it makes a lot of instrument echos). I didn’t include the Sennheiser HD580 Jubilee in the list that scratch my backs for classical is because it sounded too thin for me compared to my other headphones and I am not looking for that in my music yet… The Yamaha YH-1 was still pretty good for classical, but right now my standards are higher than normal since I’m looking for this specific texture and the way the headphones can let me hear how the performers pull their strings. My favorite vintage headphone for classical music is still the Sony CD3000 which I cry every night since I sold it
. I honestly don’t think I heard anything so amazing for classical like the Sony MDR-CD3000. Makes me want to try the ES-R10 since I heard it’s close to the Sony MDR-R10 and maybe even better than the Sony MDR-CD3000 for classical music. Anyway, Yamaha YH-1 is really cool and a unique-sounding vintage, looking forward to see how The Dark Side Of The Moon sound on these!
Late Add On: I just played a random song after I finish writing this and HOLY SH**T does the kick drums really hit on the Yamaha YH-1 lol!
