What have you purchased recently?

They have to know they are leaving a ton on the table. I think it’s probably one of the most requested things.

They’re pretty sweet so far. I think you’d like them. Always a plus that they look good.

Congrats on the D8KP. Those are on my list to try or own one day.

Expanded my headphone collection! Picked them up “lightly used”, so they seems to be through the initial break-in period.

Very interesting headphone! I feel like DCA made a mistake marketing these as portable. 23Ohm, 87dB sensitivity is no joke power requirements.

Harman bass shelf with planar magnetic bass extension is an experience. Not the tuning I’m used to, but very enjoyable so far. And definitely a sweet tuning for a little movie watching.

Sweet!

Such a cool looking design. Also, you had me at “bass”. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Looking forward to further impressions.

If it is anywhere near as comfy as my Ether 2 then THAT is a bonus!

I bought a pair of Lundahl output transformers for a project, and had them shipped to the wrong address…
Typo all my fault, the address I gave doesn’t exist, so with luck the post office will notice my off by one error on the house number and I won’t end up having to pay shipping a second time.

This should be a web browser feature, “heads up user that’s not your right house number”

After procrastinating for well over a year waiting for the right streamer/server for the right price at the right time, which never aligned for me. I said fuck it and bought one of these, it’s gonna be here Thursday and I feel so relieved and free now. I’m getting off the noisy stinky PC boys! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Getting off the pc was the biggest upgrade ive made. You wont regret it.

Getting a streamer was one of the best purchases I have made, it simply took me a long while to understand why and exactly what they do for you. Congratulations! Cleaning up the front end pays in spades :spades:!

Welcome to the Rendudrome.

Quick tip before you get it, they’re very temperamental to losing power suddenly. If you ever have to unplug it, do a system power down first.

Steam Deck just came in the mail today. I’ve been considering getting one for a while so I’m not constraining myself to my office all day just to catch up on games I’ve been meaning to play. But even if I still do that lol, it will give me the option to turn off my computer (potential sonic benefit?), switch to my Ikea poang chair (definite sonic benefit lol), and listen to music while I play games.

pic or it didn’t happen vvvvvv

I clearly underestimated the post office and they did deliver the badly addressed package.
Possibly the least exciting picture on the site…

Fedex delivered another package with a bunch of parts for a PSU in it.

you got good ones.

They actually cost about the same as the other transformers in the same box which are designed for speaker use, ~$300 for the pair (including shipping), and a mere $7500 for the upgrade if you want them silver wound.
I was actually expecting a multi month wait to get them, which is what’s always stopped me from ordering them, but the US Distributor actually had 2 of them in stock.

Didn’t make all of these deals today, but the thread here is “recently” and not “today” like it is elsewhere lol:

Ended up making a final decision on speakers, I’ll have to ditch my Verity due to space and transportation reasons in the semi near future, so I needed to move to a smaller speaker for a likely smaller room, and I finally decided to pull the trigger on a pair of Voxativ Pi 2 with the AC-4X driver, should be a great match for the Lamm (which I still want to keep due to rarity and how good they sound), should be great. It was between that and a few other contenders, but I felt the Pi were what I knew I’d like the most and also would scale the most on the overkill source setup it’s going to live on

Also made a mild upgrade on cabling in that system moving from neptune to dominus though the purist line, nice bump in technicalities so far and also more neutral and energetic

Already mentioned I got the dita coming in at some point (that might take awhile though), but I think after experimenting, I think I’m going to ditch the Wavac I got (well I already have decided, I’ll be shipping it back in a few days) since it didn’t play well with my setups and I’m impatient at this point to try and make it work. Replacing it is likely going to be an Aries Cerat Concero 25 (845 version) if I can swing the deal (a bit of a step down from the diana forte I had before, but I couldn’t find another diana I could more easily get my hands on after looking for awhile, and I also think that extra power would be overkill for using it to drive headphones (although would be appreciated on the borresen). Reason I didn’t go genus is because I wanted something that was a power amp since I don’t need the integrated pre. Hopefully the Koda is still going to be a good enough match with it, don’t really want to replace the koda with a ac preamp for that setup lol

Also finally found a D8KP LE and have that coming, been looking for one to pop up in my friend group since they dropped, finally happened, very hype lol. Took a lot of convincing though to get the guy to sell since he was on the fence and was just seeing if anyone was interested, but glad he finally caved lol. Didn’t think I was going to be able to get ahold of one of these at this rate

My Ken-Rad VT-231, JAN CKR 6SN7GT, Black glass tubes came in. Initial impressions are positive. Seem to be smoother without sacrificing any detail or impact. Still need more time but enjoying it. Maybe less glare or roughness vs the stock psvane?

Thanks to @Hazi59 for the recommendation. He’s always a help with tubes, I have a hard time keeping them all straight

According to the seller “having matching date codes of “U4”, October 1944”

Crazy good shape for that age imo. Also a noob with toobs…
