They made it home.
congrats!
I know someone that has a pair of very nice Omega speakers for sale. They pair nicely with an LTA Z10.
I want to hear the Spatial’s first…
They’ll be here in April, hopefully won’t like them more than the Voxativs. I’m in deep.
Danacable Lazuli Reference cable arrived today . Looks great with the Utopia, sounds amazing. Keeps the punchy dynamics of the Utopia, improves the tamber to be more natural, and adds a little thickness/warmth to the sound. Really impressive cable!
I’ve been thinking about the Passion USB for quite a while and the day I went to order it wasn’t listed on the site any longer, WTF. So, I emailed them asking if I had him-hawed around too long and was out of luck. The owner, Pete, replied and said that he was having issues with getting supplies for some cables and so took the listing down until he could resolve. Anyway long story short I got an email last week letting me know that he got a few parts in to make a couple cables and did I still want the one we had talked about.
The two headphone cables are for the the LCD-24 I was fortunate enough to find here on SA. The one cable is a Skollvar from Norne Audio - its the first gen and is all copper. The other is a Forza Noir Hybrid (copper/silver). I wanted to try copper and a fusion on the LCD-24. I actually prefer for the moment the Forza cable with the 24. I have several FAW cables I really like them for sound and build even if they are not always as flashy as Trevor’s cables. Also, Forza Audio Works has always been consistent with build time and shipping. Typically 2-3 days for the cable to be built and then about another 3-4 days for DHL to drop it at my door.
That’s awesome that they reached out to you after your inquiry. It goes to show that it never hurts to ask.
What’s the saying? It’s always no until you ask?
Yes, Pete is really rather fun to correspond with and he remembered that I had told him I’ve waited this long, I could wait a while longer until he got his suppliers sorted. It was a pleasant surprise when he let me know he could make one for me. He also shipped the very next morning after I paid the invoice and he communicated through the whole process what was happening. I am extremely pleased all around.
How’s the Triode Wire Labs cable build quality? I’ve been eyeing a few power cables from them.
I’m impressed by the build quality (though I only have USB currently) Feels solid the connectors are really nice and fit tight and the cable itself is light & easily routed.
I am going to be ordering a set of the Spirit II xlr and then I am thinking about a couple (3) power cords.
Like said, I don’t yet have first hand experience with any cables other then the USB but, others Who own power and ic’s from TWL have all said one of their key impressions has been the build quality.
Thanks for the feedback.
There was (3) TWL power cords posted yesterday but was already sold by the time I saw it. Good price too.
I recently was able to get my hands on an RCA JAN 12AU7 black plate rectangle getter tube and a JAN RCA 6AS7G tube for my Bottlehead Crack Speedball.
Kind of crazy how good they sound. This is probably my 2nd favorite combo besides my Mullard CV2984 and Brimar CV4003.
That’s the tube I’ve been using and I liked it so much I bought a second one. I also use the Matsushita 12au7 which you recommended.
Been wanting to try out new tubes on the Lampi… need (4) 12au7’s and (1) 5y3… I’ll keep a look out on those RCA JAN 12AU7.
Took advantage of the headphones.com sale and applied the discount orrman gave here to buy a new utopia for a used price ^ _ ^ Really excited for it, been wanting to hear one for a long time.
Nice! Congratulations!
