Oh yeah. They are great fun for techno and the hardcore leaning Drum&Bass.
For electronic hardcore and speedcore, the treble is murder.
Since Friday evening, they have been running on the LakePeople G103-S doing everything from a movie, gaming (MassEffect 1) and a lot of “mindless electronic”.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find a Dignas case for my LPGT, so instead I ordered a Valentinum case instead. I’ve used him several times before for my DAPs but I have to say this might be his best work yet. The leather is a terrific quality and feels so soft and smells amazing too lol
I’ll be interested to hear your impressions. I’m curious how you think it stacks up against the sus. Some feel they’re close, others not so much. Hope you enjoy!
Early first impressions is that they sound much “thinner” or more transparent than the susvara. They sound kinda close to an estat in that respect. There is some emphasis on the upper treble and the sub-bass is definitely noticeable. It has less body than the susvara but is almost there in terms of resolution. I could see someone preferring the hekse over the sus depending on their preferences, since the hekse is more forward while the sus is laid back. The hekse also sounds really quick. I think this would be a great one-two combo with something like a utopia. It’s probably the most resolving at it’s price category in the used market imo.
Genelec G Three active monitors, found a nice deal on them and wanted something on my desk so when I don’t use headphones it doesn’t come from the 2ch far from me on the left
This is definitely overkill but I’ve been looking at these for a while, couldn’t resist when it showed up on USAM lol
