What have you purchased recently?

Eh, probably not. I’m not great at really describing what I’m hearing outside of a few things. I will say that I am disappointed but not so much at the device (plus the HE6) but rather I’m desensitized by my BMR Towers and am asking myself why I’m not listening to those instead. I need to remember speakers are speakers and cans are cans

My only real question about this thing: does it actualy have enough juice to fully power he6?

12 o’clock high gain is too loud for me but I usually listen around 70db. This is definitely louder than that.

just staged for now. will be a long journey through break in and then dialing in. Ωmega loudspeakers sound horrible out of the box but after about ten hours they’re already showing signs of brilliance particularly in their stage presentation.

unfortunately it’s not all smooth sailing, one of the whizzer cones is damaged and I’m going to have to await a replacement. sigh, this hobby.

Any thoughts on the amp?

Throw a rug in there, my man!

There are 7 24" by 48" Gik Acoustics panels in the room. I have a rug but it’s looking more and more like I won’t be using it.

But visually…

I dont have sus on hand right now (shoukd soon) but very very positive so far using rad0 and soli P

Awesome to see you finally got them in!

… until I finished reading and found out you had an issue

Should be awesome with the TC as well

Yes. The inciviness and control is insane. Certainly ahb2 levels and maybe a step above oor. But it keeps that while having some good grit and life to it. Woll have to see if its enough that i actualy like sus on it but i can see it being a perfect 1266 amp. I would love to compaire it against oor and ahb2 directly tbh. Kinda competing price wise (slightly mlre used but not a different tier price wise) and tbh they all have some fairly similar atributes going for a largely clean, big sound but with some different neuances (sweetness from oor, stage placement from ahb2, and grit from cfa3). My gut impression is cfa is my favorite of the 3 but its been a long time since ive heard the other two tbh.

Also, this thing sounds like ass on high gain (comparatively), but given i can barely even use the volume pot even on bass ported diana i cant see a single reason to use it asside from speakers.

My real curiosity is gojnt to be how well this thing works with a transformer and x9k. Tbh, with masskobo 394ii not having juice for sus and 406 just being massive and expensive, i may have a new favorite solud state amp.

All that said, the synegy with p6p is astonishingly good, and it hated my hd580, so idk how well it will work with other dynamics.

Aww no I was so hoping you could describe the AWKT to me

I’ll look forward to a detailed summary of the Arya instead!

@Hazi59 had borrowed my AWKT and gave a pretty damned good description of the sound signature. I’m sure it’s buried here somewhere in the posts….
I’m not good at describing HP’s but I can tell you I really love my AWKT for all my easy vocals, instrumental, jazz, and even blues time.
Goes well with a multitude of DAC’s and amps. Really easy to drive and personally I find it comfortable to wear and the wood is beautiful

Thank you so much for this. Will read through this more thoroughly when I find time this month!

Some very pretty 807’s and lovely 6A3’s arrived tonight.
The 807’s are used in place of EL34’s in my decware 341.5. I much enjoy what they do.
The 6A3 was something I stumbled on by accident that just happens to work wonderfully in my Vinnie Rossi amp. It’s an old DHT that works just fine on my 5volt setting. I call these “poor man’s tube rolls” :hugs:

Last week you were “bored”. You ordered some new equipment and this week you’re happy again… and you’re listening to your SAME equipment! It’s a sick money grubbing hobby we partake in.

I might want to call dibs on your Vinnie Rossie when you decide to upgrade.
