It’s getting hot in here.
lol im convinced you dont own shoes
HAHAHAHAHA
Should we start a gofundme for at least a nice pair of slippers?
HAHAHAHAHA
First of all I would graciously accept any sandals you throw my way lol. But I do havw some veeery nice croca fyi. Some nice pins on them too
On a tangent here but crocs have been lifesavers for me. I HATE shoes and sandals aren’t the best either. Love being barefoot because I’m a hippie but crocs have been an awesome happy medium where I still have the liberty of being barefoot with the shoe protection kinda.
I’ve avoided the croc hype for so long, but some of my closest people swear by them. May have to finally try em.
BRO. U HAVE TO. WE SHARE THE SAME EARS, WE MIGHT SHARE THE SAME FEET TOO #NOHOMO
CROCS ARE FREEDOM, COMFORT, LIFE. NEVER STOP TALKING TO THOSE FRIENDS BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE. I SWEAR BY CROCS SO HARD
BF 2/64 card arrived today . (og card on left, 2/64 card on the right)
Just got it up and running, so far so good. Definitely 64 bits of amazing
I am a slipper 24/7 all seasons person. When you buy a good pair, with real shearling, (quoddy is my current fave) they last years and they self regulate temps. I think the shearling resist odors as well.
Love Crocs, but if I don’t wear socks and wear them with much walking in warm weather, they give me nasty blisters on the top of the bridge of my foot.
Birkenstocks, though, both leather and eva versions are my almost everyday when I am wearing shoes…which isn’t that often working from home unless I’m running or doing yard work
Other than power and some cleaning up in the design, it doesn’t seem radically different. Just a redesign with better placement/groupings. Cool. Does the price include shipping your old board back or it’s just a flat sale for the new analogue output section?
Just ships the 2/64 board with firmware on sd card. Plus 2 year addition to warranty, even if DAC is out of warranty. No need to ship the old card back, I’ll hold onto it for a future comparison. Or to sell to nostalgic future bf2 owners who want the og sound
Some definite sonic differences, especially in low level detail retrieval and treble control. I need to keep listening, and will post some thoughts later…
Recently while I was laid up from work due to a nasty ankle injury, I rekindled my love of reading while also supplementing it with one of my other loves, anime. Back when I was heavy into books light novels were really only a big deal inside of Japan with very few series actually getting published and translated over here, besides the fan translated stuff that would pop up online occasionally, but these days the industry overseas has boomed and its growing at a decent clip.
so now I will obviously get hopelessly addicted to this new medium, no longer will I have to succumb to thoughts like “man that anime adaption was shit, I wish i could read the source” LOL
these are some books I picked up last week locally while I wait for a much bigger shipment I ordered to arrive. errr… I may or may not have bought like 20 books during a big sale the other day
Also I’m not really sure where everybody stands on this kind of stuff, but if there are other people here who are into anime and specifically light novels, I might consider making a separate thread in the ‘off topic’ section if there are other fans among us.
Funnily enough I never considered the light novel versions of Manga lol. I see the appeal tho, just like you mentioned it’s. A combination of reading + anime essentially. While manga is much lighter on words. But I’m. A big manga consumer! Actually heavily considering starting a physical manga collection to have a physical collection and lighten the strain in my eyes that comes from reading manga on a tablet lol
PLUS I’M A HIPSTER. LOWKEY JUST WANT TO READ A PHYSICAL BOOK BECAUSE ITS COOL
Actually LN have dominated the Japanese market and these days alot of Manga are adaptions of the LN not the other way around. It’s a lot more likely these days to get you start by writing a web novel and then getting picked up for publication as a light novel, and then the manga and anime adaptions follow from there of you sell well.
I read a good bit of Manga but most of it these days I read digitally . It’s hard to stomach spending that kind of money on something I will blow through immediately. For example a typical manga volume of 300 pages, I will be able to read through in under 45min easy. Meanwhile a 300 page LN will take me at least 4-5 hours to read through and more than likely not in the same setting. And the cost is pretty similar between the two so from a content perspective its a rough proposition. Although there are some manga I want to add physically to my collection.
It’s funny you mention strain from reading on a device. That’s one of the big reasons I can’t do LN digitally, the strain kills me and plus there is just something so engaging about reading a actual book and the physical act of flipping pages that just absorbs me into the novel. Ebooks just can’t do that for me. I have no isuue with Manga though lol just a different vibe I guess since really I’m more studying the art and flow of scenes rather than doing a ton of reading by nature of the medium.
I’d definitely be one of those. Really into the rezero wn and trying to get started on the 86 ln. Though I’m more into manga in general. Nice pickups btw!
Tachiyomi is where it’s at!
Bought a kobo and called it a day. Great device and strain free imo.
I followed Baka-Tsuki translations of the Toaru Majutsu no Index LN series for a while, but I got burnt out on the translated technobabble after reading a few volumes. I’d like to pick the series back up again at some point, but I feel like my tastes have changed quite a bit after several years.
Light novels iirc can be very immersive, but also a bit overkill where some of the more mundane parts will drag on for several pages (not to mention the added layer of translation quirks.) I find manga is where I spend nearly all my time out of all the formats.
Still using my old Nexus 7 (2013) (or my phone) as an e-reader, but e-ink displays have gotten really good recently .
Briefly mentioned before that I was setting up my NAS, and as an update, I finally got my borked drive replaced. Now have 27~ TB usable in RAID5 to back up my stuff now, instead of having a bunch of external HDDs lying around.
I got lucky, I’m prone to repetition in all aspects so I re-read, re-watch things religiously without getting tired of things. But the way you explained your problem with the worth of a Manga when you will finish it so fast is fair and is something I never really even considered!
And yeah that makes sense with the whole eye thing. I know there’s some electronic readers now that use a type of screen technology that’s virtually indistinguishable from a real paper, however to my understanding it’s not as open source as let’s say an Android so if you have manga in any format you can’t really read it. Only actual books which is very unfortunate.
That’s really nice to hear! I haven’t touched a physical book in so long, even though I do own a few. I need to do so to see if I share the same thoughts. I feel like I mostly remember it being more tedious than not lol. But maybe that’s a generational gap thing
Most of the books I “read” these days are read to me.
