What have you purchased recently?

The NP5 are nice looking units. Look forward to your thoughts on it. I like that they have multiple options for signal out built inside the same main housing. Something the Sonore uRendu does not.

Is that a MK2 ?

No this is the original, it’s not the new model mk2. Picked it up used for my office desktop simply to finally get off the USB on my macbook-pro which is the noisiest output in the entire house…or at least that’s the plan for now.

Was setting up my DAS today after picking up the drives and found out that one of them is borked, so that’s the whole thing on the left (was testing individual drives.) However, the digital sign/monitor from Aliexpress arrived today, doesn’t look half-bad.

Both are freaking awesome lol. After first couple of hours I am wowed more than I was by Susvara. They are pita to get fit right at the beginning but once that is sorted out, man I had epic session.

Because these shaped like speakers, do they leak much or just like any open back?

My wife said they leak much less than susvara so i would say they leak like open backs with smaller driver.

ordered a custom color xbox controller from design labs like 5 weeks ago and totally forgot about it till today when it arrived lol

these new controllers are pretty nice with the new rubberized options for the handles and the metallic triggers and dpad, I really dig this light purple color too, glad I went for it instead of a standard white or black

also usb c!!! fuck yeah about time, my older xbox one controllers i have been using still was using micro… yuck

Very awesome. …I really like Microsoft’s recent controller designs, I literally have an adapter so I can even use an Xbox Elite v1 as my main PS4 controller, lol.

I can’t say I share the same common sentiment against usb micro and other ports that most people have lol. Altho I do recognize how useful it is having everything being usb c

So my dac arrived. Which is awesome, best packaging of all time too. It looks great and after messing around with the control seemingly works. It’s called the Wadia 25. So did the aes and rca to 3.5 jack I needed. So everything is awesome. BUT I also ordered the mutec ddc that @j.fopps has buuuut the seller mistakenly advertised as he sent me the version without the USB section. Meaning effectively that I am unable to use my setup until I return it, get refunded and buy the correct one :frowning: lol. I’ve already been DAC-less for a while and will be for more. With no secondary setup to listen to either lol. Either wayyyy, THE DAC IS MASSIVE AND LOOKS AWESOME. So I’m looking forward to this setup!

Very nice, congratulations :+1: FYSA, little bit of history for you, the folks who designed and built the Exogal DAC used to do the same at/for Wadia :astonished:

Yessir! That I do know. You bet that I really looked into the product, well @M0N is really the guy behind it all of course in terms of me looking into wadia gear and explaining the history behind them. This dac is at least as old as I am if not slightly older and it’s so old it wasn’t even called a dac by wadia. It was called a digital computing something something if I remember correctly.

Sort of audio related…I sold my Fender American Performer Precision Bass today and used the funds to upgrade and ordered a Gibson Non-Reverse Thunderbird Bass in faded pelham blue with custom extended scale Nordstrand pickups and GHS balanced nickels custom gauge strings (65-85-115-130). The picture below is of the stock Gibson Thunderbird in the color that I ordered.

I ways loved the thunderbird basses.

Congrats. Both basses are sweet, the thunderbird is a little sweeter.

I dont know if the new pelham blues will go through the fade cycles like the old ones but its a beautiful color none the less.
