SU-6 owners! Iām eyeing up aftermarket PSUs. Iām unsure whether to go ifi iPower, iPower 2 or iPower X. Thereās a few pennies difference. My inclination is to go with the X as it does 2.5 Amps and I have read that SU-6 sounds better with a little more current (closer to 3, rather than 2).
Does anyone have experience with powering the SU-6? Any advice? Are there any other reasonably priced PSUs that I should consider?
The SU6 uses its supercapacitors for power, the external psu is only to charge those. So you wonāt really benefit from an external psu.
I tried an ifi x when i had it, nothing changed.
Get the X, youāll always be able to use it on something should you move on.
I own all 3 styles of the Ifi, honestly damned if I can hear the difference in any BUT, it is a good practice to go as clean as possible in your power supplies so pick the most useful and purchase.
