Show your setup!

Yeah I did last night after realizing it was lazy to not take a minute to shoot them a note. A dealer just got back to me, though it’s about 2 hours away on a good day down I-95. Will have to make a trip down south in 2025 to have a listen.

Thanks! Had a lightning deal for $45 so got a set to see how I like it

Which model are these?

I’m tossing up between atalante 5 or the Gersham studio 2 - interstate dealer will only send me one set for demo.

The dealers first comments about the atalante were they were boring and soft which doesn’t match what I have read.

Edit saw elsewhere that they are the fives

Interesting. I would ask the dealer what he paired with the speakers. They will reflect what the upstream gear that’s paired with it. Or maybe he’s used to very showy and exaggerated gear.

@dB_Cooper i wanted to take a moment and say “Kudos to you” on the immense amount of attention to detail and effort you have taken over a good long time now to put into your 2 channel and HP systems. :pinched_fingers:
Your level of patience and dedication to every aspect has paid off incredibly and it was a great joy and most rewarding experience for me to sit back and be able to appreciate the exceptional quality of your projects.

It’s truly a visual feast with level of attention to detail, you are an inspiration to me! :hugs: The room is a pleasure to experience, the artwork and the fine details to explore one after the other :flushed: oh my! Every time I visit I find myself noticing new details and creative additions that simply floor me and excite me to pursue my own rooms with ideas I would personally NEVER have thought of or considered exploring !
I wanted to thank you and your most gracious wife for again hosting me and allowing me the joy and pleasure of experiencing your beautiful home and all it entails! :hugs::heart:

I haven’t changed much, I just repurposed a side table and relocated my setup. Still loving the MZ3, glowing tubes, VU Meters, and more importantly, great music.

It is a legitimate light bulb. It matched very well with the white glow of the Mo Elrogs.

I love it, I have zero complaints. Of course, there is always that contingent online that claims some amp or another “brings out a whole new level of sound quality from Susvara”, but allowing for the fact that there is always something better out there if you have the resources, I am pretty darn happy with Bliss. It powers everything up to and including Susvara with ease, and based on the technical explanation of its handling of gain I feel like it has a special skill that few if any other amps have (i.e. automatically maximizing gain for the optimal power delivery at any given volume/impedance). I don’t have experience with a lot of other solid state amps, but I can say it is objectively more sonically pleasing that Topping A90, and more “elegant” than Schiit Lyr.

What does this mean in terms of sound? I’ve never seen this used to describe any audio gear’s performance and I’m genuinely curious.

I looked up the definition of elegant and this is what I found:

adjective

  1. pleasingly graceful and stylish in appearance or manner.

I’m guessing smoother, or more refined

September 2023

A year later, pretty much an entirely new system with the exception of the transducers, damn.

I have to say, it’s been a lot of money and even more improvement than I ever imagined there would be given the expense. I’ve been able to move up the chain while leveraging existing equipment sales to finance new purchases. That said, I have to stop; my future depends on my shifting my priorities to retirement financial planning.

There isn’t a single thing that I hear that bugs me to the point of feeling I need to improve it. On the contrary, most listening sessions of late have just been enjoyment of new CDs (heh, I mean digital albums) and quite a few surprised “wow” uttering while I’m going about my work day as a sound just makes me stop and take note.

Besides room treatment, there is so much to be gained from good power.

That said, I didn’t get my chain to seriously begin to pay dividends until I had all of the areas addressed. Isolation and vibration, cabling being at the appropriate level, POWER, POWER, POWER, and of course tweaking with speaker and subwoofer placement in concert with fine tuning my extensive room treatment. I’ve got 10 dedicated acoustic treatment points in a room that’s 12’ X 10’ X 9.5’.

So the moral of the story is, if you want to get the best out of your investment, you need to pay attention to all of the factors that contribute (great and small) to the final chain.

It’s been a long while since I showed my HP rig any love so
I took apart everything to dust and clean then re-spaced some shelves in my rack to see what I could squeeze in and where.

We start things off w/ a fiber feed out of the switch which is then converted and fed via CAT8 to my SOTM USB ultra regenerator which feeds my SOTM 200 streamer. (mind you all my stuff is of the older variety. I’m done w/ HP’s and completely fine w/ “yesterdays technology today”) :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

There is a Furman P-1800 AR rack mount voltage regulator & power conditioner and an Ifi AC purifier doing power duties.
I also found a spare Japanese RO Beryllium cryogenically treated duplex receptacle that I want to take time to install.

I’m using an Ideon absolute time re-clocker to feed a Sonnet Pasithea DAC via USB direct RCA into a Decware 341.5 amp and also balanced into an OG SPL Phonitor X which then does pre-amp duties for an OG Amp&Sound Pendant amp.
It’s a bit complicated but clean.

For shits and grins, just so I can compare outputs on the Ideon, I’ve also got the ability to use the older MATRIX X-SPDIF 2 DDC to try the SPDIF re-clocking on the IDEON.

It’s been almost 3 years since I sent in my 341.5 Decware amp to have the HP output installed along w/ some premium capacitors and upgraded RCA jacks. In that time it was loaned out for almost a year (where it again sat unused) and thus I still haven’t had the time to give it it’s couple of hundred hours of “break in”.

So far results are extremely positive, working on matching HP’s to the different amps. This is most time I’ve spent playing w/ HP’s in a long while🤗
