Ngl, that red zmf looks pretty sick
Hi Chris! Glad you’re here as well!
Gorgeous setup! Welcome @ chrisnyc75
Welcome, but what I really want to know is what’s that chrome looking thing with the heatsink on the bottom sitting next to the basket?
Whoa! This guy coming in hard! Not gonna lie, I kind of like it.
The speed control for the turntable. The basket is filled with earpads and record cleaners etc.
lol Sorry, didn’t really mean to come in SHOUTING, just wasn’t quite sure where to start so I figured “here’s my stuff” seemed like as good a place as any. lol
Thanks all.
Wait all that very awesome and cool gear and no speakers
just HP’s? Why….why…waaaah
lol very nice
I have a Bose portable smart speaker if that counts? lol I had near-field speakers for years before I knew hi-fi headphones were a thing. Since discovering head-fi, I haven’t looked back. Also, I live in an apartment in NYC, so spending more than a few hundred dollars on speakers doesn’t really make sense for me right now. I can turn it up as loud as I want with perfect acoustics on my headphones!
I figured it was an apartment setting, which makes complete sense, the turntable always throws me off, that’s real dedication to the music Really nice equipment choices and the red trim and accents on those ZMF is absolutely stunning! Love ‘em
As much as I love my gear, it really is all about the music for me. My whole life, music has brought me more pure joy than anything else. Every single important or great thing that has ever happened to me has had its root in music. The gear is really just the vehicle that lets me maximize the delivery of that music to my brain. And the vinyl, well, that’s really just a throwback to where this all started. More than any audible benefit, it’s really all about holding the music in your hand, in a format that has existed for a hundred years, and will exist for a thousand more, and honoring the music in a way that CD, streaming, and whatever might come next simply cannot match. For me, VINYL RECORDS is where it all began.
Much respect on the LP collection. I am not a disciplined enough human being to maintain LPs. I think digital has been the salvation for folks like us. I have a friend in Brooklyn who was in the record industry for many years and has been a collector of albums since the 80s.
The shame of it is that an album sitting in a storage unit can’t be played. Also really great way to share the collection on Discogs, I’ve never bothered to put anything there but seeing how you’ve got it set up it does add a lot to the platform.
Owning a record collection is a responsibility AND a burden, no doubt. But I maintain that there is no substance on Earth as addictive as vinyl.
Will test it out today, running single ended and with backup interconnects for now until I hear back from the dealer/Riviera on next steps.
Hadn’t registered that the Levante is a BIG boy!
What are the little silver buttons towards the top of the speakers?
I see the K50 on the rack. Is that telling for the LDM server?
It’s the biggest component on my rack. 66lbs and just massive in size.
Those are the magnets the usually are part of the driver covers but my covers are old and the magnets stay on the speakers half the time when I remove the covers.
The LDMS was great, beating the K50 on some things and losing on others. It required changing the placement of my speakers to tackle changes in stage and I didn’t have enough time to figure it out perfectly before it went to the next listener to audition. I’m very happy with the K50 and see little reason to spend upgrade money on this part of the chain at the moment (except maybe swapping it with a fourth generation K22).
Only big boys
