Old Setup:
New Setup:
So it took my all day today to rearrange the room and place my speakers hopefully in a better position.
I followed a rule of thumb of 4x4x4x4 from a listening room setup YouTube video (forgot which one). Basically make both my speakers symmetrical from the wall. 4 feet with some change away from the side wall and 4 feet away from the wall behind it for both speakers. The speakers minimum about 4 feet from each other. I am 4 feet away from the speakers. The only thing I couldn’t make 4 feet is the wall behind me which is 2.5 feet.
Going to listen to this setup for a little while if I like it and maybe mess with the speaker placement if I want something else. Only room treatment was random placement of acoustic foam that was already there before I rearrange the furniture. I do still have some acoustic foam behind me on the back wall, so I hope that helps, but probably not since it doesn’t absorb bass.
I will also start with no toe for this setup since a reviewer recommend no toe in as too much toe in with the Platimon is too much detail, but honestly I really love the Platimon because it was the most detail audio device I ever listened to at home. But no toe in really open up the music and expanded the soundstage. It could also be I actually put the speakers 4 feet away from the walls. Anyway, whatever I did, soundstage really really open up lol.
If I like what I hear, I may start installing the 1st two reflection points besides the speakers. Will get rid of the TV, but only time will tell. Planning to install bass traps and cloud, but don’t know when. Will figure out the next step I will do, after getting use to this new setup.
Add on: notice the speakers are actually facing a little away, fix it and made sure to it’s fixing straight just to try no toe in for now. I kinda liked the speakers when they were facing out toward the room as the soundstage felt a little more expansive then no toe-in, but will give no toe-in a chance for now. Also, I tried walking in between the speakers and slowly walk away from. That was pretty cool lol. Also kinda worried about putting the tubes behind the speakers, bass is pretty big sounding. When I get rid of the TV in the room, I will move the audio chain further away from the speakers.
