Discovered this gem a while back when perusing older Japanese music outside of my listening habits. Very nice stuff, mostly instrumental except for the title track which features duet vocals, but the real treat is the rest of the tracks. It’s smooth jazz with funk elements mixed with traditional Japanese instruments that give it a pretty beautiful edge to the sound.

More stuff I found from my exploration. This time something a little more chill and serene, this album is just straight up pleasant. Japanese electronic ambient from the 80’s with a healthy dose of new age. Very atmospheric, very peaceful listening.
Discovered Mitski today. Enjoying her discography…

I’m really starting to get into late showa era pop, which was something Ive been meaning to explore for a very long time. This album specifically is around the time Kayōkyoku was very popular and the “new music” scene in the early 70’s was starting to take off. Here we have a incredible output of mellow pop sound with folk and acoustic elements, the vocals are reminiscent of better times with bittersweet emotions. Overall this was a surprise and just feels so right, I’m very much enjoying my exploration of older music right now.
I was listening to one song off of this Sara Bareilles live album to test something out and now I’m enough songs in that I’m no longer “testing” and I’m just “listening to this album”:
I just really love the last third or so of this album.
MacBook Pro/Apple Music → iFi iGalvanic → SU-2 KTE → Exogal Comet+ → Allnic HPA-3000 GT (Zenith tubes) → MYSPHERE 3.1
Recently discovered Keygen Church:
Damn this slaps, I don’t usually listen to electronic music but this is something else, I really, really like the unique combination of baroque and cyberpunk-ish music? Don’t really know how to describe it, never heard something like this.
I very much enjoyed Dreams by Common Saints. I will be checking out the Starchild EP and others in their discography.

Slay.
Kudos for the Pharcyde shoutout, one of the best! If you haven’t you should check out Living Legends also.

I get a slight sibilance from many songs on this album, specially on komm susser todd’s singer when she pronounces the “S” sounds
Do you get that with your chain?
Can’t say ive really noticed it am paying attention to it on track 6 and its prefectly fine with the “s”
Notice it anywhere else?
Yeah for example a just a little bit on thanathos, but really thats not sibilance, the only real annoying sibilance I found was on komm susser tods vocalist, she was way to close to the microphone (i beliebe intentionally).
In my case that sibilance depends mainly on the headphones, its not noticeable at all on the 6xx but it is on my audio technicas and beyers
it could be just that tbf, I have it not on vinyl too and could give it a listen but yeah as ive heard it on both im not hearing too much of a distinct yes this verison sounds worse or anything bar the obvious vinyl noises which this one seems to be rather loud with but other than that nah its been fine for me
