NIck Cave covers by the Flaming Lips voiced by a 14 Year Old Superfan of the FL’s (Nell Smith) and I have to say they absolutely killed it!

Since m0n posted their favorite video game soundtrack, I figured I’d post some tracks from one of my (relatively well-known, standard) favorite picks, Streets of Rage 2 and 3!

Interestingly, both soundtracks were collaborations between Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, but Koshiro’s best work is on SOR2 (the Koshiro tracks on SOR3 are lame tbh) while Kawashima owns SOR3, and Kawashima’s tracks in particular still feel incredibly ahead of their time.

I was really fortunate to be able to be able to see Koshiro and Kawashima perform live in Los Angeles as part of Red Bull Music Academy’s “Diggin’ in the Carts” series. Also, the company Data Discs remastered all of the Streets of Rage soundtracks for release on vinyl, but later released the tracks digitally as well:

Wow - that track you posted is amazing - A great pick as an introduction. I’ve loaded the album into the library for a proper listen. Thanks for the share!

My pleasure, this is the best “what song” thread I have come across yet on the myriad of forums. Well done!

I’m going to be shallow for a sec and say that Lee really sells herself short with that unflattering spandex alien visitor outfit She’s a cool, sexy woman and that outfit doesn’t do her justice.

The song, on the other hand, is hot as always.

I was thinking the same thing - Laura is sort of known for fashion I saw her on a morning talk show during lockdown. I don’t think this was her idea, and that’s what I’m rolling with.

Like… I would have been so happy if I looked that good in spandex when I was her age. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: She looks fiiiine. You dudes are crazy. :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes. It this a shallow, shallow tangent we are on  :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha. Well said. Easy for me comment from my easy chair. :joy:

I suppose context is king, here. I think was mostly reacting to the outfit itself. Just sort of weird and uncharacteristic for her. :man_shrugging:

Video does look like it was a lot of fun to make and I love how wardrobe and makeup along with the film grain really add to the music.

Plus first time hearing this band and it’s really very nice.

Oh wow, nice! You’re in for a treat if you decide to dig back into Khruangbin’s catalog. Highly recommend!

EDIT: Adding an album because why not?

Yeah, I discovered Khruangbin only a couple months ago. Very cool tunes. They mostly make “grooves” more than songs, if that makes sense.
