Listened to The Wall this morning.
This has recently become one of my test tracks. Thank You Scientists are a fairly unique rock ensemble. They’re quite fun. This particular recording has a grit to it that I enjoy:
Really solid drummer.
That surge of sub-bass at the chorus always gets me. Classic song!
EDIT: This song on the Stax 007/009 was an unforgettable experience
Another week another remaster
Again well done
I find myself slower to come across “new” artists these days. Partly due to that I’m just older (busier) coupled with the fact that I am physically removed from the Seattle/west coast scene (at least that is what I tell myself to feel better). With that as my preface; I just came across this group while taking a Friday evening stroll through KEXP performances on the YouTube.
This is my favorite track from their recent KEXP live performance recorded August 5, 2024.
I am now currently listening to their most recent album “I wish You Way More Than Luck”
to be followed by working backwards in time through their remaining discography this evening.
Most of the best new music ive found has been by accident lately. A random red bull artist spotlight here, a KEXP performance there.
Thanks for posting this, I didn’t know about this band. I’m watching the full KEXP performance, they’re quite good! Really enjoying it!
I live in KEXP country, and I kind of forget about it, which is my bad. It’s a great source for new music.
Im learning something about myself, and that is I really love that UK sound.
Im trying to find a way to describe it other than “Nighttime music”
Listen man LOL i know it sounds stupid
Underrated album imo
For some reason, I read it as “Nightmare Music”.
I’ll give it a listen today.
I was in Seattle for a conference last week. I but I have been listening to this song almost non stop every time I was out exploring the city. I’m such a fan boy, I also visited the rapper’s bakery he co-founded and tried cheesecake that made them hood famous, but more importantly some pour over coffee.
