This is a good listen if you like Collective Soul, stunningly consistent material especially given the length of the album, and a good master.
They certainly haven’t changed radically since the 90’s, but there is some evolution.
A warning to all (no pun). I grabbed Incubus’s Morning View XXIII album and i dont know what i was expecting but it is pretty terrible. Like i am consider deleting it bad, and i only did that to St. Anger.
The nand re-recorded their really amazing Morning View album from 23 years ago but with a modern vision. Song composition is worse, the sound quality and mixing is terrible and boomy, and performances are just bad.
Some speculate they wanted to do this as a way around an old record deal and they can tour and say it is this album not the old one. But it sounds like it was done in the fastest, cheapest, non caring way possible.
Sad.

Funny that they’re more of a harder rocking band than their most popular songs would lead one to believe.
Good stuff.
This is an amazing take on Rhapsody In Blue. The video itself is a fun watch and it sounded amazing as well. Make me wish I was there to experience those little moments in person. The improv at 14:20 was a cute little touch to help not ruin the atmosphere of the crowd cell phone ringing during a performance.
I swear there’s always one person. I don’t understand what’s so difficult about silencing one’s phone before a performance. Anyway, small rant over.
I agree, 1 little click on the phone shouldn’t be a big deal. There was another phone ring later in the video as well, but the pianist Hayato ignore that one and continue playing.
Or like, just keeping your phone on silent or vibrate only, just always. And how many times before a performance so they ask everyone to make aure their phone’s on mute
How To Operate With A Blown Mind
Big Beat got me into electronica, back in the 1990s. I have a bunch of vinyl EPs from when I was a student, including some really esoteric stuff like Sofa Surfers, Depth Charge and one or two white labels. HMV stores let their vinyl buyers have a section they could chose themselves (might still do, no idea!) and my local one had someone who really liked this kind of stuff so I picked up some gems without really knowing it. It was a cool time to be young. Every British town and city had a club scene, even if it was just one club lol. Alcohol was not a big part of this which made it pretty chill and we were all dancing and partying our weekends away then chilling out to music like this. Good times

At an acoustic music festival… lots of fun bluegrass and Americana music. Sarah Jarosz will play soon.
