Yes I follow the approach in Roon as if it was a CD transport pushing out 16/44 as I hear a better sound playing CDs vs. playing Flac files.
I prefer Roon for its ease of use and instant access to my local music library. I do not have subscriptions to Qobuz or Tidal as I have Apple Music, and while it doesn’t integrate into Roon it is free and free is good enough to discover so I can buy a CD and rip it.
So call me a purist if that is applicable, could also call me ignorant as that would be equally applicable when it comes to using DSP in Roon
