The first thing I noticed plugging the AIC in was the weight, every sound every note has a satisfying weight, nothing is light, but its able to do that without being sluggish at all. Even the low level sounds are weighty.
Didn’t know how much low level sound was buried under. Its like the low level has its own lane and the high level its own while both having their independent authority playing together without interference.
The other thing was the space, damn this is immersive, when the recording is big it sounds huge, and when its small, you are in a sound bag.
The noisy music transformed into a properly layered music, the details and layers that came out of this noise…
This amp taught my ears what is organic, just sounds so natural like yes that’s how it sounds in real… Timber is best I heard so far.
How low you wanna go? Digs so deep with again; a “weighty” sub.
There is no artificial texturing, it’s textured and smooth at the same time, sounds seamless.
And, what is harsh? This amp is so forgiving. Such an allrounder suitable for any genre.
It elevated my d8kp above what it used to be. On my previous amps I didn’t feel this much of a gap between it and the rest of my HPs, but with this, so obvious. How technical the higher tiered HPs are if you drive them properly…
The only thing I kinda felt I needed was a little more treble, the V550 was good in that. And maybe a little more slam, but I think that’s fixable with tubes.
All of this was with the stock JJ tube, he included a Telefunken tube so I’ll switch in a week or so.
My worry about amps came to an end, stopping all Flavor Of The Month temptations and my brain is thanking me. The dac hunt begins.
