LB-acoustics MYSPHERE 3.1/3.2

Just curious, what is your preferred tube on Paltauf?
I don’t have mysphete just yet but would love to here some tips from another Paltauf owner.

Ok, finally to a point where I think I’m satisfied (for now) with my mysphere article. Added more information, further refined comparisons, added more context, I swear I think I’m done now. I might revisit it in the future and do the rest of the dac comparisons but since those would be primarily memory since I didn’t write down dac notes for most, I won’t bother. Ended up at 25k words, not sure how I got there, not sure if I should be there, but whatever lol.

Edit: hey 25k words for 25 days since this thread was last bumped, neat

Now to shove through and do the same thing for the utopia

The desire for a mysphere 3.1 is growing each day for me! lol
And my chain’s all set for it too.

you fucking mad man :joy:

I can’t wait to read through the Utopia article when it’s done, might as well try for 30k words no? :stuck_out_tongue:

Might take quite awhile lol, not sure if it will be as long as to be honest I don’t like that headphone as much as the mysphere so naturally it won’t be as long. Also, some of it like comparisons might be a bit repetitive so it might make references to the mysphere article

It’s just that I might as well do one for the utopia considering I’ve already done half the hard work being the pairing list.

And word count isn’t everything, this isn’t a high school paper where I have to meet a wordcount, if I wanted to fill it with fluff like a lot of other reviews, I could, but that’s not my goal, just happened to hit that many, wasn’t a goal lol (although what was a goal was to further add more and more detail to make the title more and more of a lie)

Honestly out of everything I read everywhere, your style and what info you choose to include in the articles is so pleasing specially for someone who hates to read.

You can tell its someone who climbed the ladder and went through the journey… No bullshit no extra and not missing anything important like when I read I don’t feel I have questions its all there.

Just direct and every line matters, if you skip one line you missed important info. Well done.

Well that’s always nice to hear lol, I always feel that most things I write end up feeling very amature ish and I have no idea what people actually want to know. I just write about stuff I would want to know about, and skip the stuff I wouldn’t care about

That’s also good, if you do have any, please let me know so I can try and address them if possible lol

Try to not sugar coat anything or be overly black and white, try and capture some of the nuanced stuff without going too far or getting too complex (if I can even do that)

Your 2nd best write up that I’ve read IMO. The Og Dac thread on hifi was the goat.

Oh interestinggg, I would have considered this one to be the one I like the most, likely because it was the first one written with the intention of it being a public/not just for me article, wheras the first dac comparison was mainly just something I did for myself and just posted it since I had already done it so why not (and I really kinda look back at it and realize how it’s pretty flawed so I don’t know if I still see it in a positive light lol), but this is besides the point

I can defiantly sense your passion more on this one and you go way deeper in content on one item (good thing). I personally enjoyed the dac comp and read is several times because I had never seen anything like it. It was like a machine gun approach to a candy store of desirable dacs. To rack and stack so many products was just great.

Actually, about the cable thing… I know you said you’re having a friend make one for you but did you ask other cable manufacturers if they can make it? I’d imagine that’s another viable option.

I did think about other mfg, but before I did that my friend hit me up first, so I’m just still waiting on that. I didn’t have much desire to look elsewhere since the axios hb worked well with the 3.2 but isn’t cutting it with the 3.1, so now I’m more interested in what’s out there. I’d love to have a lazuli nirvana or something brise for a mysphere but I don’t know if I want to see what that would cost to do custom lol

So as a soloist 3XP and quicksilver hp amp owner would you suggest the 3.1 or 3.2? In your article you suggest 1 for each.

Honestly, 3.1 for the quicksilver, mainly because I like the quicksilver more as an amp, but the 3.2 is really solid with the soloist and likely a safer bet imo.

Hmmm actually I might take that back. I might actually say 3.2 because it’s a safer bet and you can use it on both and it will likely be solid on both, so considering you have both, I’d first try a 3.2 and see what you think

But I do think you will want to go higher if you want to see what the headphones can do

They were both epic.

Seems like a nice reread while listening to my 3.2
Such a shame you did not have time to put Paltauf through with other DACs. Hope you will have such a chance at certain point.

I actually feel this one has enough information to be called a review, anything else though not really lol

I hope so too lol

Why? Whyyyy? WHYYYYY ARE THERE ALWAYS MORE HEADPHONES?!?

I have to save for retirement and given the current economic situation, maybe even for unemployment. LOL

At least the Utopia and the 3.2 aren’t stupid cost in the used market like the Sus.
