Thats the plan. Just wanted to post in case someone else has a similar experience to me and is all confused. IMO only post impressions when positive isn’t particularly helpful.
Edit: also, the bass as a whole was fine. It was the sub bass that just didn’t exist. That said, I have no idea what frames I had (had 2)
I’ve only got 30ish minutes on my 3.2 off of a 1321/v200 stack, but I can say that they are very sensitive to positioning. I didn’t have them far enough forward at first and it made a huge difference to move them forward maybe a centimeter or so to center the speaker over my ear more.
Switched over to the W2 feeding C9 for a bit today. These are definitely source sensitive, and revealing of poor recordings. On these chains, while being more mid-focused, there is more upper mid to treble presence than I’m used to, so it’s taking some adjustment. Vocals definitely present a step forward of instruments. Wanted to get a sense for what they’d do with the gear I’ve been using for a few months, but I think it’s about time to fire up the ALV S3>CHA-1 chain that’s recently come in.
it’s very ironic actually but i experienced this first hand today with the 3.1, i hadn’t had much time with it yet till today. I started listening on shuffle and noted that the sound was just kind of lifeless and devoid of dynamics and the timbre quality that the 3.2 showcased very well wasn’t present. The bass sounded/felt flabby and even somewhat distorted at times. I was like wtf? are these broken? but then i played with the fit over the course of a few hours and finally found the right position for the headband and frames and now it sounds totally different. I wonder if i wasn’t listening to the 3.2 in the best position when i had it but it never sounded as bad as these did in that position, which makes me think the the 3.1 might be even more sensitive to the fit and positioning than the 3.2.
I will retract my previous statement about not being very eager to own a pair, because honestly these things are special. The best mids and vocals that ive heard on anything ever. If you are a ‘mids’ peep these are for you, also the timbre and tonal quality might be one of the best, up there with the susvara in organics and naturalness. Dynamics are also nothing to sneeze at with very fast micro and macro second only to utopia to my ears and even then its really close. Transients are also standout with great speed and very snappy. These compared to 3.2 feel more technical with better detail retrieval and a bit more neutrality and little less warmth, overall better sounding to my ears but the amp i’m driving it with (eddie current studio b) i believe is vastly more suited for the 3.1. in comparison to the Cavalli Liquid Gold i used with he 3.2, so take that into consideration.
Now this is not the perfect headphone at all by any stretch. Its uncomfortable as shit on my head and does cause painful pressure points after a few hours, some people have reported no problems though so its probably down to head shape, the other problem is despite if you find it uncomfortable or not i guarantee you will still fiddle with the fit regardless, its just part of the experience i guess. One other thing is that this headphone won’t sound amazing with everything, other than the source picky tendency it also likes well recorded music, i wouldn’t say its as bad as utopia in these regards but definitely still a consideration. The final negative, the elephant in the room… The bass, or to be more exact the subbass (it actually has some decent midbass imo) these won’t do crazy low frequency rumble and if that’s something you cant live without you have two options; hook a sub up and embrace the lunacy that is using a 12inch subwoofer in all its glory with a earspeaker or buy a different product all together, there you go that’s it

The lack of sub bass would likely make this a deal breaker for me, but the other qualities you’ve mentioned make the MySphere something I’d love to here some day.
Have had the 3.2 in house for a few days now (thanks for sending them my way Bob at Sumeet’s request) and I wanted to give my thoughts.
A few things off the top, these particular pair have a mechanical issue or two so I am not getting the 100% experience I am certain due to some wear and tear on one of the connection tracks as well as some issues with all of the cloth grills not being fastened all the way around the edges. Ok that is all of the so called BAD to list, on to the sonics (GOOD).
I will start off by saying that I went back to my Susvara this morning and texted Sumeet immediately that “:I don’t like the feeling of headphones on my head now after listening to the MS’s”. Once I got the fit sorted (tilted just a bit forward of the crown/center of the top of my head) and the angles set where felt I got the best soundstage and intimacy cohesion (about 30% from fully closed) I was able to really really appreciate what these can do.
I would consider these particular 3.2 to be on the warmer side of neutral with my the current chain of Roon / Sonore Ultrarendu / Ethernet In Su-6 KTE I2S Out / Spring 3 KTE / RAAL HSA-1b / XLR MS3.2 Cable. They lack the ability to pressurize my ear canal obviously but I think they likely give more ear gain to the mids based on not having that pressurization which makes the mids the best I have heard, the best. I have heard most all of the TOTL headphones on the market today. I have to say that I am a 2 Channel (or 2.2 Channel) Audiolover first and headphones are a fun and addicting extension of this but they are secondary to my primary music listening in most instance so this is likely why I am such a fan of these MySphere 3.2 now. I have had MANY 2 or 2.1 channel Near Field setups over the years and the MS3.2 are better than the best of those including $6K+ Genelec setups I have had. Since the money matters, these on the preowned market (if in good condition) are an amazing deal if you are a near field fan.
I think I should compare these to the SR1a. The SR1a are great but they are very much a 1-Trick pony to my ears, similar to the 1266-TC. Great at one thing but not most or all things like the Susvara or the LCD5 are currently to me. The SR1a have great grip on string instruments and offer as much detail as my nearly 50 year old ears could ever wish to hear and amazing soundstage width but that is all they do for me. The MS3.2 offer all the Bass Notes I could want on Mark Knoplfers Shangri-La and on Nation of Language’s A Way Forward they really showcase their soundstage and detail capabilities with the detail being on par with my Susvara and the Soundstage rivaling the SR1a.
While I question the longevity of the design like some others have mentioned to me I think these are truly a special audio product. Not to mention the iPod thin cable really making me look at all of my Norne and Double Helix cables with a bit of buyers remorse!
I know this was possibly a bit thin on Sonic Impressions and heavy of verbose, sorry for that.

It’s been several weeks and I kinda did a lot of complaining when I first got it to demo, so I felt like it might be a good time to revisit my thoughts on the MYSPHERE 3.1.
First regarding the fit, now that I’ve owned this headphone for a while, I’ve reached the point where I kinda just sit down and put it on and it’s not a big deal: I kinda just know how to wear it and I don’t do much futzing with it. If I wear it for a long time (several hours), I can feel some discomfort from the pressure below/behind my ears, but that’s the only issue I have left with the fit. Other than that, I’ve pretty well settled into wearing the MYSPHERE comfortably.
I also don’t adjust the wings very much at all. I find that I don’t like the sound as much with them /all/ the way out, but I think I only have them titled in an extra 15-ish degrees from being entirely out most of the time.
I recently picked up a Diana V2, and it’s kind of fascinating since I think the Diana is on a higher tier compared to headphones like my Eikon and Gjallarhorn, but the MYSPHERE is again on a noticeably higher tier than the Diana and at least for my preferences, it’s not even especially close.
I continue to love the sound of the MYSPHERE. I love the tonality, the detail without sounding unnatural, the presentation of space, the dynamics, it’s really good. With regards to sound quality, I kind of can’t recommend these enough.
I guess one thing to note, I tried the MYSPHERE on a high-impedance output and they sound kinda bad and wrong, so yeah, the different models (3.1 or 3.2) are designed for certain impedances and it matters a lot.
After spending a lot of time listening exclusively to the myspheres to make sure I was remembering good pairings correctly and double checking my comparison for my impressions write up, going back to other headphones feels very off lol. Just feels like something isn’t right, larger than normal acclimation period for sure, surprisingly though switching to iems doesn’t give me that sense at all, wonder if it’s because they are so different
Also a few questions, has anyone here heard both the k1000 and a mysphere, and am I insane if I remember the k1000 sounding wider but with much less accuracy inside it’s stage? It’s been a long time since I’ve heard one and want to make sure. Also what do you even compare a mysphere with outside the raal and akg?
Of course a heard K1000 vs MYSPHERE 3 … logically, as I’m the inventor of both! 
And yes, you are right - the K1000 sound a bit wider in sense of spaciality, but in terms of accuracy and all other aspects it is far away from MYSPHERE 3 - but it’s more than 30 years in between! Not many other products are comparable after that long time.

(I was initially thinking of picking up an Axios Copper, but you were saying you didn’t love the Axios Hybrid on the 3.1, so yeah, I’m just curious how the new custom cable is doing. :D)

Personal friend, he has also made me custom switchboxes before, but this is his first time trying his hand at a headphone cable (although done speaker and ic before as well). He doesn’t really do anything as a business or something, but if he decides to start doing stuff on the side I will let you know

Mostly been listening to 1321/V200>LCD-24 and P6P>Infinity Mk2 lately, tied to the desk, but decided to have a session on the good chain for a bit tonight. Man, I’ve gotta get my shelf built so I can get this accessible from my desk.
I’ve been in a Classical (read Orchestral) mood today, and I happened to have the MySphere’s connected to my primary system.
I don’t know why I haven’t really used them for Classical listening much previously, but the staging and presentation is really quite magical.
Anyway consider this my monthly reminder that you need to listen to the MySphere’s if you are looking at TOTL headphones.
Got to try these at CanJam and they were pretty damn awesome and extremely weird/different compared to pretty much anything I’ve ever tried. I don’t think I would ever own them because I wear glasses and I had to take them off just for this to sit somewhat comfortably on my head. The sense of space you get is pretty incredible and I was expecting there to be like no bass, but it was still quite present when I listened - maybe because they wings were really really close to my ears.
I feel like you could get tons of varying degrees of presentation with this due to being able to adjust the wings, I wish I had more time to play around with it but I didn’t want to be that guy and sit at the table for an hour lol. The Mysphere is really damn cool though and I feel like those adjustments could allow you to almost have multiple different headphones in one. Maybe if I ever decide to get Lasik I’ll get a pair.
Also, how do these sound compared to the RAAL SR1A? Didn’t get a chance to test those out so I was curious of how similar the two are
I’ve got a comparison of them on my mysphere article, but I actually don’t think they are all that similar outside of both sounding very open, they have their own strengths and weaknesses to where I feel they are not really competing against each other for use case (I do personally think the mysphere is a better headphone but it will depend on what aspects of sound you value more and your source gear as well)
