Industry News, Rumors, & New Releases šŸ¤

Yeah, thatā€™s a good point. Z also pushed them pretty hard as well.

Makes my DHC short adapter look like a monster lol

4 esoteric N-01XD listed from dealers in the past week or so (none seem to be great deals but all discounted). Wonder if something new is about to drop

Itā€™s been a couple of years since it was released, and the knock on esoteric has always been how frequently they update their TOTL pieces.

although Iā€™m known to pay a little extra for all black designs (cough D8KPLE cough) this will probably be $5000 like the rest of the limited editions and definitely not worth 2x the price for used ones imo but might be surprised!

It didnā€™t specify that itā€™s a special edition. I think itā€™s just a new color way, but Iā€™m sure weā€™ll find out soon enough.

Pi2AES 2.0 coming soon.

ā€œPI2AES 2.0 with 2-pin header for LCD. Note this is connected to the PI side of the 5V, not the PI2AES optional 5V in.ā€

that would be very nice, might tempt me if itā€™ll come with good dealer pricing.

Are prices flexible with newly released items? I didnā€™t think they would be

Depending on the specific company, dealer, your relationship with them, availability etc but Iā€™d say yes itā€™s possible

MusicTeck also has started offering Brise cables now. Should make them much easier to get in the US.

Is there a vendor that offers DSD downloads?

HDTracks has some, but they are few and far between.

As you note in the thread the issue is that often things require you to rip the SACD.
Which isnā€™t as easy as ripping a CD, does anyone even know of a list of currently available Blu-ray drives that will read an SACD?

Taken from this thread: Rip SACD with a Blu-ray player | HiFi Haven

I personally use an older ps3 that I was able to hack before it was patched, but in recent years thereā€™s been more advancements to allow for more players using a specific chipset to work for ripping and making it a lot less of a headache inducing process. It seriously used to be a pain in the ass
