Industry News, Rumors, & New Releases 🤐

44ohm OI is on the preamp side. HP OI is <0.3 ohm

Edit: not the biggest fan of headphonia but they reviewed it

All I know is they used to work with mytek or something? Not sure

It’s a very nice psu, the knob is to change settings about its output like voltage and things, so it’s like a little baby lab psu sorta lol, but with much less features and optimized for audio

I want to stop buying shit for this hobby, but yes I will likely get my hands on one in the coming months, but only cause another friend is interested and will take it off me later

Sounds like the forum moto tbh

Then not necessarily a low feedback design.
Pre probably is probably skips at least one of the gain stages given the difference, which I’d assume implies the feedback is at least local.

I’ll try and stop suggesting things you might need,

I actually saw this monday but was distracted by work before i could post it. Love the aesthetics.

I’ve got enough people trying to push me toward stuff, you can do whatever as long as it’s at least interesting lol. By deciding to stay here I’m accepting that I will still get suckered into buying things

9 posts were split to a new topic: Don’t get into cars

Always wanted to try an Empyrean. Looks cool, I dig the color scheme. Hopefully the sound won’t be as split in opinion as the previous one.

If the new Elite causes the OG Empyrean used prices to drop, that would be cool. I enjoyed the Empyrean when I had one on loan…but it wasn’t worth the full retail price. If I saw one for $1700 or 1800 used, I’d definitely consider buying one. They probably are the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever worn and it is nice that they are not source picky like some higher end stuff.

That’s a good point. What would you price the OG if new?
We should see more releases this month amidst the Canjam event. A new Utopia, maybe? Or maybe Utopia MG…lol

If new, I personally don’t believe they are worth more than $2,000 max…and that is pushing it. I love the design and I actually do like the sound signature but there were small things that bugged me about them. The lack of layering bothered me. Depth was just OK, but I expected it to be better considering the price. One of the areas that bothered me was the transition from the upper mids to the treble…it felt disjointed. While that is good for separation, it isn’t good for vocal overtones. Still, fun sounding headphone…just overpriced at retail.

Idk about new price but used i think they are fairly solid if in the 1500 range or so

Of course, that is a subjective thing. What I would personally value them at would be different from anybody else. I happen to prefer warm signatures, so I do like them…but not at full retail, that is for sure.

I’d be a bit worried if that was the case, the Clear MG isn’t exactly an improvement over the Clear. (Though pad-swapping the MG to the original’s pads helps a lot.)

100%. I actualy enjoyed them quite a bit. I picked mine up for 1800 and probabaly would have just kept them if they didn’t make my ears ring unfortunately

Surprised about the ringing. $1800 is a good price IMO.

I think it would be less of a subjective thing if comparing it to others at or below its price range. If you were to look at it by itself, then for sure it would be different to most.

I wouldn’t be too worried since we should expect a price drop of the OG Utopia. So, Utopias for everybody! lol

Yah, im pretty sensitive somewhere in the upper mids to trebble area. Unfortunately its more common for cans to make my ears ring than to not. Usualy I dont even notice until I’ve used them for a day, take them off, and realize my tinnitus is about 20dB worse than it should be either so demo alone won’t tell me.

And yah. The only reason I even got them in the first place was because I knew I wouldn’t loose any money (even including shipping and fees) when I sold

That sucks. I can be treble sensitive and upper mid sensitive…but only to narrow steep peaks with no gradual increase. Spikey stuff basically. It doesn’t give me tinnitus or anything, but it just becomes bothersome after a period of time. The Ananda and Arya both are examples that cause me serious fatigue.
