I feel like that’s something everyone here is experiencing (other than @M0N). The higher end gear you guys are all talking about seems really f’ing hard to describe

Just wanted to say, after having the total dac for a few weeks now, it really just sound right. Its not like it has shocking timbre or realism like weiss, but instead over all it just sounds like I think the chain should. I really cant overstate how happy I am with my current chain. TBH its to the point that I am debating taking some of the money I am clearing up from selling audio stuff and putting into other hobbies instead of audio. It realy realy is just perfect for me. I could use maybe a bit more speed on the leading edge of bass impacts (or more realistically, maybe a sub-bass boost for certain kinds of music like synthwave, but thats just cause I like a lot os sub-bass with inorganic music like that) but thats just it.

It’s so fun when you get what you were looking for and patiently making that decision. What you’re missing sounds more like final tweaks with cables etc or maybe just a bit of the Susvara limitations.
What did you conclude about the difference between morning and afternoon sound quality?

Its not sus since ive heard it do what I want with several other dacs (sus is actualy the best HP ive ever heard at those sub-sonic stuff). It may be cables, but tbh, its not enough to bother changing anything for now.
Ive started recording when i think it sounds off. Ima check it against our plan power after the holidays to see if it lines up with anything specific
Just NOS. Now that I think about it, I havent actualy tried any oversampling yet.

Honestly, ive got the dac itch again, so I think is high time I open this thread back up (and write the demo notes of the shit I didnt before 
)
My short list of targets for fairly immediate demos is:
- DCS Lina (located one near me)
- Esoteric N-05XD (also found one near me)
- Try weiss again (near me)
- See if I can hunt down a rockna demo (still havent heard anything from them somehow)
- Maybe Mojo Mystique, but still torn on this one tbh
My goal here is ultimately to try some more flavors and decide if I want to go up the totaldac tree or maybe branch out.

Were you able to demo the D1-Direct?
Not yet. I don’t have my amp (hopefully getting it back weekend after next). If he still has it by then I will 100% be attempting to demo it.
