HM1 is sold out for 2023 in North America, that’s 25 units of the 50 planned worldwide for this year. Current shipping expected in April according to the dealer. I’m skeptical but if it comes in the first half of the year I’ll be happy with delivery time.

25 units is ridiculously few, that’s probably < DNA numbers in a year, and he’s a 1 man shop.

I’m purely guessing that he’s thinking about it as if he’s spending an equivalent time of making one per week with some time off along the entire year that ended up with that 50 number. Considering his “real” business and the associated alternative cost and how small of a shop it is it could’ve been even less and be justified imo

Oh I agree seems like more a profitable hobby than serious business.
50 units at 8K a piece, assuming 100% profit over COG is an income of 200K a year, and that’s before you worry about overhead.
I’ll be interested in what you think when you get it.

Zeos is the absolute worst person to review this product just like the DDC or any other components he doesn’t “get”. He also has a significant bias against anything expensive and for anything that is bargain bin. Still he does give me a giggle from time to time if you don’t take him seriously.

With zeos and reviews all you can do is hope to be entertained and not really informed.
He’s received so much shit for his lack of depth, and detail in the nuances of sound reproduction that he’s over it, IMO. He’ll still review things like the Zähl, but I think he’s given up on any serious discernment. He still exhibits a little bit of nervosa though, which makes me a little sad for the guy.
